Booklet for Kakou Ton's Soubou Sangokushi CD. Not sure what to expect for this. His scenario sounds kinda mean ._. Well he can't be as bad as his boss right..
Kakou Ton's 4koma from the Soubou Sangokushi website. Seems like Chou Un and Kakou Ton are both pretty nice characters lol. In any case don't think the remaining 3 chars can be any worse than Sou Sou. Unless Rejet proves me wrong.
Kakouton was one of my favourites in Jyuzaengi so I was looking forward to his route. Sadly I thought his route in 2 was a little disappointing. It felt a bit like nothing much happened. His character hasn't changed though. He's still absolutely loyal to Sousou and still very tsun lol.
Since they show up quite a lot a short intro on the two new characters under Sousou.
The one on the far left is Kaku. He was formerly part of an army Sousou defeated and now serves as a military commander/strategist. On the far right is Kakuka. Doesn't show up much in the other routes because he was tasked with hunting down rebels somewhere else but he's also one of Sousou's military strategists. Almost everyone in this post has a name that starts with 'K' it seems.

Kakouton's route branches off early, during the first battle with Sousou's army. Kanu insists on going with Chouun to act as a decoy and they are pursued by Kakouton, Kakouen and Chouryou. While running away she fights with Kakouton when he catches up and injures his left eye before escaping with the other maozoku.
Despite his injury Kakouton insists on joining the attack. Sousou agrees to let him join Kakouen's formation but warns them not to kill the maozoku because of their personal grudge. Kakouen is pissed at Kanu and says when she's caught he'll destroy her left eye so she will go through the same suffering as Kakouton.
The maozoku make their way to the next castle along with all the refugees. Kanu volunteers to go to the back to help those who are trailing behind. They are attacked by Sousou's troops and Kanu is captured after being shot in the leg. She is brought to their camp and kept in the supply tent, guarded by Kakouton and Kakouen.
To make sure she doesn't escape, Kakouton instructs Kakouen to bind his left hand to her right while they sleep. That night, bandits try to steal the supplies. While Kakouen is chasing after one more show up and Kakouton tells Kanu to undo the ropes since it's an emergency,
Kakouton complains about the ropes being too tight and Kanu thinks to herself that he was the one who told Kakouen to use more rope in the first place lol. Anyway they beat up the bandits even with their hands bound.
Sousou's army returns to the castle and Kanu is imprisoned in the dungeon. However Kakouton lets her out after telling her he will defeat her and become a better warrior and that he'll show her what it means to have the resolution to fight. He tells Kakouen to make sure her hands are bound so she doesn't escape.
They go to one of the surrounding villages only to find it empty. Kanu follows Kakouen when they split up to look for the villagers. They find no one but suddenly hear Kakouen screaming. When Kakouton finds him he's lying on the ground badly wounded. He had been ambushed by Keishuu soldiers. They were also the bandits who had tried to steal supplies before. The three of them are captured.
Kanu and Kakouton are locked up with the villagers being held hostage. After some pleading the soldiers agree to let Kakouen receive treatment. Kakouen is bleeding profusely and near death and Kakouton blames himself for not being there to save him. Kanu gives him a pep talk and tends to Kakouen's wounds.
One day Kakouton talks to the villagers, who tell him just like how they think Sousou's army is scary just from rumours, he also has misunderstandings about the maozoku based on rumours too. When Kanu returns he starts staring at her and comments that apart from her ears she does seem like a normal girl while Kanu wonders what's up with him lol.
Kanu is called out by the soldiers who ask if she's part of Ryuubi's group. They can't let her go but they will prepare a separate room for her since she's not an enemy but Kanu wants to stay with Kakouton and the others. Kakouton still keeps staring at her and says her face is strange. When he refuses to tell her what he means by that Kanu pinches his cheek. Kakouton tries to make her let go but they end up falling and accidentally kiss.
They are about to kiss again when Kakouen regains consciousness and ruins the moment lol.
Meanwhile, the maozoku have realised Kanu is missing and Chouhi and Chouun leave to search for her.
One day, the soldiers decide to leave along with all the village's supplies and Kanu saves a villager from a soldier. Without her weapon she can't fight though and Kakouton saves her. He has convinced the villagers to fight against the Keishuu soldiers. A boy brings Kanu's weapon to her and she fights alongside Kakouton. Kanu sprains her ankle so Kakouton carries her.
After the fight the villagers give them a horse and they leave the village along with Kakouen.
While camping in the forest Kakouen wakes up again and starts berating Kanu, saying it's her fault Kakouton lost his eye and she cased the death of thousands of soldiers. Kanu can't take it anymore and runs away. Kakouton runs after her. When he sees her crying he hugs her, saying he doesn't want to see her crying face.
They return to the camp and Kakouton tells his cousin he was worried about losing him but Kanu saved him and he's grateful for that. He leaves so the two of them can talk things out. Kakouen starts crying though so Kanu touches his face. He tells her he doesn't like her but doesn't hate that hand of hers.
When Kakouton returns he tells Kakouen that just like how he blamed himself for not being able to do anything when Kanu injured his eye, Kakouton also blames himself for being so helpless when Kakouen was almost killed by the soldiers. Kakouton says nobody is to blame and they should forgive themselves.
Kakouen gradually recovers and one day Kakouton tells Kanu she should return to the maozoku since the battle is about to begin after overhearing some passing Keishuu soldiers. Kanu leaves and the two of them rejoin Sousou's troops. Kaku tells them they are going to fight with Ryuuki's army, 15000 against his 3000. Kakouton asks to join the battle and Kaku agrees.
Kanu meets Ryuuki in the forest. He thanks her before ordering his men to capture her. It turns out the maozoku are not with him because Shokatsu Ryou did not want them to fight in a battle they would definitely lose. However, if he tells them Sousou has captured Kanu they would be sure to fight. He'll do whatever it takes to get the maozoku to fight in order to protect the land. Kanu is taken away and gets tied to some tree somewhere.
After hearing of Kanu's capture by Sousou's army the maozoku insist on fighting and Shokatsu Ryou reluctantly consents. However, he knows Kanu might not actually be with Sousou. Sousou would have sent some kind of message since his goal is to make the maozoku fight for him. The maozoku join up with Ryuuki's army while Kakuka and Chouryou are also prepare to attack.
Kakuka: If one person dies it's a tragedy. If many die it's a comedy.
Says a lot about his personality doesn't it(bad feeling vibes...)
Good End
Kakouton finds Kanu and frees her. She tells him of Ryuuki's plan to get the maozoku involved so he decides to join Kakuka's troops and stall the attack. When Chouhi and Chouun see Kanu they know Ryuuki lied. Shokatsu Ryou arrives and tells Ryuuki they plan to surrender to Sousou and advises Ryuuki to do the same.
Kakuka is unhappy because he wanted an all out battle so he orders his archers to shoot. Kakouton heads over to Ryuuki and convinces him to surrender but Kakuka walks over and draws his sword to kill Ryuuki. He says that he dislikes weak people. He also wants to kill Kanu. In the end Kakouton knocks him out with one hit before confessing to Kanu.
The maozoku surrender to Sousou, Shokatsu Ryou returns to the mountains because they don't need him anymore and he doesn't want to serve Sousou. Sousou agrees not to make the maozoku fight since he'd rather they do that than fight for some other country.
While Kakouen is away to grab some food Kakouton and Kanu spar and he accidentally injures her. He's relieved when it's just a small scrape and confesses again, telling Kanu she is the only woman he loves.
Bad End
Kanu can't free herself and starts shouting for help. After a day she is found by Kaku, who tells her that the battle is over. When Kanu learns that the maozoku are dead she starts crying and screaming that she hates them. Kakuka walks over and asks Kaku if he can hand Kanu over to him. Since she hates them so much she won't work for them so Kaku agrees.
Kakouton is also looking for her and eventually finds her but she has already been tortured to death by Kakuka. He starts crying in despair and screaming her name. Kakuka you sadistic little piece of s*** -_-
The endings really made me hate Kakuka meh.
Peach orchard epilogue. Kanu is worried because Kakouton has been hard at work so she goes to see him in his room. He's sleeping at the table but wakes up when Kanu tries to wrap a blanket around him and accidentally knocks her down. He apologises at first but then decides he doesn't want to move lol. Kanu asks him what he's thinking of and he replies that nowadays he finds himself just thinking of her.
Even though the post is still long, in the game most of what happened is just talking. A lot of talking. Shuuyu doesn't show up in this route and Ryuubi stays a child. Sousou is the most sane in this route I think. No going crazy over the maozoku and he acts more as a mentor to Kakouton and Kakouen, giving them advice about moving on and such. Not one of my favourite routes in terms of storyline but I still like Kakouton.
