tobi is actually pretty awful at taking care of his mask, and it’s kakuzu who supplies him with a new one when it breaks in the middle of battle, never allowing their enemy to see his face underneath
one day tobi asks why kakuzu keeps buying exact replicas of his mask and where does he find them. and kakuzu without looking up goes, “i make them myself. it’s cheaper, and i like you but on a budget.”
tobi takes extra care from then on

i wish i could write fics its just that im very bad at everything except dialogue (and i also suck at that cause im a poor speaker but ANYWAY) cause i got a very good fic about tobi (anime) being his regular stupid self, but also having very high emotional intelligence and kakuzu having to deal with a gay who’d probably trip on his own shoelaces if his shoes had them yet can read kakuzu’s emotions very well when he really pays attention to him and has very mature ideas about emotions that tobi can explain despite his very redundant language
