Final Round: "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea." The last piece I did for the competition! I had 36 hours but this was the one where I had the LEAST time to draw because I was seriously uninspired and was also still aiming to do better than my last. Had to draw the lineart by staying up late as I procrastinated earlier, thus waking up with only 3 hours left to color it. Yeah. I basically color panicked. Almost didn't make it to pass on time, but I still had to explain this one so... Here it goes... This artwork is called "The Filipino Fission... To chose between two unpleasant situations. That is the meaning of the words laid upon us. To me, it reminded me of my country. As much as I would like to advocate the Philippines for all its unity, I am not blind to the fact that there are times where we go against our own people and to chose between those 2 sides is a terrible experience for anyone to go through. Be it about the "War on Drugs", opposing opinions on the government, or anything else that may upset our mother land. Even our own flag is divided in its colors! Only united by the light between them, yellow & white, in which I hope to portray us. As different as we are, in every sense of the word, WE are all Filipinos and no matter what choice we make, it all affects us in the end. Thus, we become our own light in the middle of all the conundrum & confusion. Stand strong. For all the demon's flame or the ocean's intimidating depth, that's one thing they can never take away from us nor can they make us choose to. Despite our differences, together, we make a work of art!" ... Yeah. I have no idea what I was saying, but here it is! Won first place overall champion! Whoop! I just snagged all the awards for digital poster making in our region. 😅 But I had fun. This... This was fun and I learned. 🇵🇭😊 -Bubbly❤️

Found a 3/4ths finished character design thing in my art folders that I had completely forgotten about!! The theme back then was supposed to be centaurs. Didn't make the deadline at all, haha. Ah well. :)
