BATWOMAN 2.18 Power
1.11 // 2.16
THIS IS WHAT KATE LEFT IN HER SAFE. I DIDN'T READ IT, BUT I HAVE A FEELING I KNOW WHAT IT SAYS.
The logical next S3 storyline for Kate Kane is... (I mean it’s obvious)
So we got the real Kate Kane for 5 mins in the Batwoman season 2 finale (that sucks)
In a previous episode ‘Kate’ seeing herself for the first time in the mirror wasn't Kate, it was Circe. We now know.
So Kate should be struggling with her new face and the aftermath of her torture. And we should see that struggle onscreen which then leads her to becoming Red Hood/Batwoman 3.0. Let’s recap: Kate survived a plane crash with severe burns. She was tortured mentally. She had Circe in her head tormenting her childhood self. She shouldn't be comfortable in her own skin just yet. We should see that struggle.
It also makes sense why Kate wouldn't be with Sophie right away (prolonging our inevitable Kate x Sophie endgame story). Kate needs to get comfortable in her new skin before she can be comfortable to be with Sophie again. Side Note: Wallis and Meagan’s chemistry: CHEF’S KISS I’m here for the #Kanemoore angst.
THE MAIN PLOT OF BATWOMAN SEASON 3: Further develop Ryan as Batwoman 2.0, Luke as Batwing. Can we bring back Imani and develop that love story with Ryan? The Poison Ivy/Ryan’s mom villain plot.
THE B PLOT OF BATWOMAN SEASON 3: Kate thinks she is ok, but she's not fine. She goes through a dark phase reconciling with her new identity, which leads her to becoming Red Hood/Batwoman 3.0.
***Description for Red Hood: “The Red Hood is an alias used by multiple fictional characters. Red Hood assumes control over several gangs in Gotham City and starts a war against Black Mask's criminal empire.” After being tortured by Black Mask and robbed of her identity, Kate seeks revenge.
In the 2nd half of season 3 Kate rejoins the #BatTeam So we will have Ryan as Batwoman 2.0 Luke as Batwing and Kate as Red Hood/Batwoman 3.0 fighting crime in Gotham with Mary and Sophie. I mean it’s the logical next step. To gain Ryan as Batwoman we don’t have to lose Kate. We can have both.
This Jewish lesbian butch character means the world to a lot of people. She needs to be seen onscreen. SIDE NOTE: We need to see more of her Jewish identity displayed.
Also Kate doesn't need to search for Bruce. It was obvious in season 1 that he is alive but doesn't want to be found.
Alice and Kate sisterhood is something unique that Batwoman should continue to show onscreen.
Let’s not forget the Mary Kate sisterhood as well. I mean ADORABLE:
The writers and powers that be can STILL fix this. We cannot lose Kate Kane. Wallis plays her so well. Wallis and Rachel actually look like sisters. We need to see more of that sister dynamic. PLEASE for all that is good, DON’T GET RID OF KATE KANE.
Batwoman 2x17 - Kane, Kate
i really appreciate the gay jokes
I was excited to see kanemoore but 😬
I’ve seen quite a lot of people saying that they wanted to ship Kanemoore but that now upon seeing Kate and Sophie (Wallis/Meagan) that they are still shipping Wildmoore. I’ve seen some people say that the chemistry between Wallis and Meagan, while translated well on instagram and social media, it didn’t transfer as well onto the screen and in the episode. I was one of the people excited by Kanemoore because of Wallis and Meagan’s chemistry off screen and on their instagram posts but I’m not seeing any of it translate on screen. One thing you can’t fake is chemistry. You either have it or you don’t. I’ve not seen Meagan have on screen chemistry with Ruby or with Wallis. But she had it with Christina and she’s got it with Javicia. Chemistry is interesting because in truth it is subjective, but it’s still something onlookers for the most part all see or don’t see. That’s what makes movies and shows and ships work. A ton of people see and believe the chemistry between characters, or they don’t. It seems based on what I see people saying is that they still aren’t buying Kate and Sophie together (no matter who plays Kate) and I have to agree. This might be because in this episode Kate is not “into” Sophie the way that Sophie is into her. But it still isn’t working for me. I’ll have to wait to see more of their interactions to make a final judgment however. But like with Meagan and Javicia they will just be near each other and the chemistry is radiating off them. Or even Rachel and Nathan (Ocean and Alice - you can feel the sexual tension). Or Rachel and the wall because Rachel has chemistry with everything.
Whether this was intentional or not, Javicia and Megan (Sophie/Ryan) are the ones people are noticing. Because of their obvious stand out chemistry, not to mention the enemies to lovers trope. I really hope Wildmoore is endgame. One big reason for me is that I’d love to see Sophie with a Black woman. This show has already done so much with it’s Black actors and this would just be icing on the cake for me. Give us Black superhero's, give us Black women who love other Black women and who kiss other Black women. GIVE IT ALL TO US!! I think it’s also interesting to note that Javicia didn’t have chemistry with Bevin and the chemistry with the girl who plays Imani is ok. I think this is just so telling that the ones with the most chemistry despite bringing other relationships into the mix are still Javicia and Meagan. I hope the writers and creators don’t waste this opportunity. Nothing quite as heartbreaking than ignoring natural chemistry between two people in favor of pushing something else. Go with what is flowing and jumping off the screen. Listen to the fans because they are telling you what is working and what isn’t.
All I want from the Batwoman season finale (besides Trasharoff dying) is a wlw kiss, as we’ve yet to get one all season.
Season 2 has been top notch, given the circumstances of Ruby leave and the writers having to basically start from scratch. The story is cohesive, the action, themes, characters, relationships, EVERYTHING!!!! Batwoman season 2 has delivered. I just need to see a kiss and I’ll be complete.
