As the name suggests, normalpasta is basically just a what if au where the event that leads them to become who they are never happens.
Toby still have a shit ass dad, the car accident just never happened. His mom finally divorced her husband and take Toby and Lyra with her. He became a lumberjack I think.
Liu (in my ver) is still abused by his biological parent and gets adopted by Jeff's parent later on, sully still exists. If the whole bullying from Randy never happened then he would went on to become a fashion designer.
“Laundry,” kate said, knocking three times on tobys door. You could hear toby grumble, a half asleep grunt exiting his room. Kate sighed, knocking again. “Im just gonna go without yours then,”
“Fuck off,” toby shouted, and something hit the door. Probably a pillow, but you still flinched. Kate rubbed her eyes, walking down the hall. She stopped in front of brians door, but hesitated. She glanced over at you, her blue eyes half lidded and tired. You didnt know what to do, so you just smiled. She quickly looked away, walking down the hall.
“That piece of shit doesnt deserve clean clothes. Serves him right.” she growled, and you felt your heart skip. Her caring about you, just in her own skewed way, was so… pure. Whatever she could have done for you she had. You got to sleep next to her every night, and she didnt know how grateful you were. Maybe it was just friendly, but you secretly hoped it was a crush.
“Tim,” she knocked, with the door quickly opening. Without a word, kate took the basket of clothes and let the door close. You hoped that it wouldnt be this tense forever, all you had ever wanted was to belong. Instead you got screaming and being drugged.
“Cmon (Y/N), help me load this up,”
You stepped out the laundromat into the cool night air, pulling the sleeves of your sweatshirt down around your wrists. It wasnt quite cold yet in michigan, just enough that it was unpleasant to be uncovered for long periods of time. You didnt mind it, but weather was temperamental and you knew better than to be caught unprepared for a flurry. Kate was standing on the bumper of a car parking space, balanced on the ledge of concrete that separated the shops sidewalk and the shitty chevy you all used. She was holding a cigarette in her left hand, pinched between to fingers and glowing on the end. You sat on the sidewalk ledge, digging in your pocket for your geek bar. Kate looked over at you, her white hoodie pulled over her head and her hair flowing out the sides. She almost smiled, but her gaze quickly darkened as you took a hit from your vape.
“What?” you smiled, “You want some? Pineapple flavored,”
Kate scoffed, looking down at you with a disapproval. “You dont know whats in that, could kill you yknow,”
You laughed out loud, watching her roll her eyes and turn away. “Like cigarettes are any better,” you smirked, shifting how you were sitting as the wind blew away more cigarette smoke. She remained quiet, jumping from one concrete wedge to another. You sighed, looking away from her and taking another hit.
It wasnt easy being out here. You knew from the moment you woke up in the mansion infirmary that you were in a horrible situation. Creatures that you could only see in nightmares and yet they were painfully real, one even attending to a nasty cut on your left leg. It took you days to fully come to, and to realize that you were going to die out in the woods.
“Thank you,” you said, quiet enough that you were almost unsure she heard. She turned to look at you, her eyebrow raised with her pale skin tinted blue from the washateria sign.
“For what?” she muttered, “I did what i would for any girl. You gotta learn to hold your own or your going to get killed in the most gruesome, painful way possible. Raped, gored and dumped in the woods. Do you want that?”
You shrunk away from her slightly, muttering a small ‘no’ before looking away. She walked over, sitting on the ground next to you. The asphalt crumbled under her feet, her boots digging in the loose stones. She sighed, snuffing out her cigarette on the concrete between you and her.
“Im not trying to scare you. Well, i am. But not in a malicious way. Ive seen people come and go. Most of which were.. Disposed of. All im saying is keep your boots on at night and get a gun.” she stated, her voice remaining in a flat affect. You looked over at her, watching as she stared into the nothingness of the countryside.
“Am i going to die?” you whispered, slowly taking another, longer hit of your vape with shaking hands. You sat in the silence for a moment, the cold wind biting at your fingertips as the moon slowly began to move down the clear night sky.
“Not if your smart,” she said, passing a cigarette to you."Do you want to survive?”
“Of course,” you trembled, taking the cigarette from her. You looked off into the night, where some moths were dancing under a streetlight. It felt like they were the protected ones, so ignorant from what horrors lay beyond human sight simply because they were insignificant.
“Then smoke cigarettes instead, first off. Then save your money from kills and get a gun. I can only keep you safe for so long. They will kill you, and they wont care. No one cares about each other here. Its better that way.”
You swallowed anxiously, feeling your stomach flipping on itself with a burning sensation deep in your body. “But.. but i care about you!” you smiled shakily, picking at your fingernails and rubbing the remains of sharpie from your cuticles. You waited for a response, but none came. You wallowed in the silence, interrupted only by owls and various wildlife chittering about in the brush.
“I know.” kate whispered, tucking her knees into her chest. “I know you do. And thats very nice of you, but for me… stop. We are designed to kill, dont let feelings get in the way.” she mumbled, going to stand up. She got to her feet, her boots dragging on the concrete as she turned towards the laundromat. “Cmon (Y/N), theres a vending machine. I need a coke or im going to die,” she said, walking into the building.
The door closed with a jingle of the bells on the door handle, leaving you alone on the pavement. You looked at the stars, barely visible through the clouds. It was nice, but you knew the glow meant they were already dead.
