𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | The Godzilla Katsu Chicken Burger from @chunkybuddhagroup down at @jujusbar really has got me eating pineapple in a chicken burger, and I like it. The chicken is crispy as it can get, the Katsu sauce is dope, the pickled cucumber breaks it up a bit, another top dish from Lee. Get down to JuJus to try out the food from @chunkybuddhagroup, it’s worth it, and check out the Chicken Godzilla Friez, which have pineapple on them, which I thought I’d hate but I really didn’t. Halo Burger Launches New Vegan Katsu Burger for One Month Only

'Halo Burger', the fun and unpretentious burger joint for junk vegan food, is offering a NEW Katsu burger for one month only in their new eatery on Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch. Renowned for its colourful bars, galleries, eateries, and fine dining restaurants, this prime location is sure to attract vegan-curious diners and junk food lovers in general. Yes, vegan junk food does exist! 

'Halo Burger' first opened in community project 'Pop' near arty Brixton Village and has always stood out from all the street food start-ups in its own little way. Tucked away amongst the independent retailers and restaurants their 'baby' burger bar has been standing tall and proud from the word go, so we're not exactly surprised it's branched out and opened a second base. The classic Halo Burger still gives me cravings to this day and the chips are yummy. Much better than Macdonald’s..

Nanban restaurant owner and Masterchef winner Tim Anderson has collaborated with Halo Burger to introduce a new Katsu burger and it is available Sundays to Wednesdays from now until the 10th of April in their Shoreditch branch. We loved the deep-fried crispy smoked Gouda cheese. For me, this was the highlight. Inspired by his new book ‘Vegan Japan Easy’ you can see where he got his idea for this classic & modern vegan Japanese burger recipe.

Crispy breaded chicken thigh, smokey Miso mayo, sweet & sour slaw, katsu ketchup, sour chillies, crispy onions, and coriander. Asian flavours and ingredients always go so well in a burger, and everyone loves a Katsu, don’t they? 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | Theres a new special down at @haloburgeruk and it’s a collaboration with Masterchef winner @cheftimanderson. It’s a Katsu Burger, and it’s made up of a deep fried @beyondmeat patty in a crispy panko breadcrumb, with a deep fried vegan smoked Gouda cheese slice, umami mayo, tonkatsu sauce, and shredded cabbage. I loved how the patty is deep fried, it works so well, and that fried cheese slice is so good, It doesn’t feel vegan at all. The sauce is very nice, and as a whole I liked the taste of this burger, but I did find it quite salty. Luckily I like salt (awful, I know) but I’m worried people might have a problem with this. I’m not sure which element was causing it, so I’m not sure if it can be toned down, it might need a bit more mayo to balance it out.
