The cell was far from luxurious. It was spartan and white-tiled, a cramped holding the size of a restaurant bathroom. The only thing separating the two of them was the barred door- reinforced with cursed energy and deceptively simple, gaps spacious enough to reach one’s fingers through.
He’d had a lapse in judgement- having already taken out so many who had come after him in the weeks and months preceding his capture. As such, it wasn’t so much the numbers that had overwhelmed him this time coming. After all, numbers and quantity had never meant much to Satoru.
He’d frozen at the sight of Suguru’s face- almost stupidly bewildered that he might have agreed to aid in his capture, and that had been the end of it. The bindings they’d applied once Suguru’s curse had immobilised him enough remained even now, flimsy talismans hung from technique-dispelling rope and chain which criss-crossed their crude tracks over his limbs and torso. No doubt they were still deathly afraid of his capacity to free himself, to kill anyone and everyone in his way.
He met Suguru’s eyes. Not yet, anyways.
