Wonderful characters to spend my day with – loved Rowena and Casey and their story. Each story in this series is written by a different author and they have all have so far been a delight to read!
Casey is all about family and will put them above anything AND he showed that to be true when he headed home to bury his father in spite of the potential financial and professional gains he could have made had he stayed to ride. He puts in full effort when riding but he rides with a goal in mind and has a plan for the future that he believes means this will be his last year riding bulls.
Rowena has been with her father on the bull riding circuit providing bulls for the riders since she was four. Her life has not been easy and it has not been typical but it is what she knows, loves and does well. In her spare time she has a hobby but she does not have many if any real friends and knows very little about being a girlie-girl.
Casey has his eye on Rowena when he returns to the circuit and she seems to have her eye on him, too. Their journey to a HEA is not easy. They need to keep their romance (what there is of it) on the down-low. And yet, they definitely have feelings for one another. How it all unfolds is a story well worth reading and one I thoroughly enjoyed and believe you will enjoy, too!

Oh now this is interesting. The guest cast for the opening two-parter of season 9 includes Clare Higgins and Kelly Hunter, both of whom have appeared on the series before. Higgins played Ohila, the leader of the Sisterhood of Karn in 'The Night Of The Doctor' while Kelly Hunter appeared as the Shadow Architect in 'The Stolen Earth'. Are they reprising their previous roles or playing entirely new characters? I'm betting it's the former, which means the Doctor will be visiting Karn and the Shadow Proclamation again, which will hopefully get a much needed makeover so it doesn't look as bland as it did before
What The Bride Didn't Know by Kelly Hunter

Review: I don't think I've ever ended a book and wanted to turn around and start it all over again especially a short romance novel. But this one, I couldn't get it out of my head, it was that one that made me want to do that. I highly recommend it. I loved that the heroine seemed real. She wasn't miss pretty perfect body. She knew she had emotional and personality faults as well, recognized them and actually worked on them. There was good character development in this book too which too often lacks in the cookie-cutter style romance. I don't recall reading Kelly Hunter before but she is now one of my top romance author for modern romances. I was surprised that the blurb on the back of the book doesn't mention memory loss/amnesia but other than being caught off-guard I didn't mind. It added something I wasn't expecting in this friends-to-lovers story. I must go out and buy the first two in the West Family series since I didn't know it was a series until i started reading it but there was no way I could stop. It's been a long time since I couldn't put a book down. The book was sharp, witty, fun, sexy with true love that showed through!
