Allison watches. That’s all she does in the vicinity of Marina Beckett, it feels like. The echoes of Britney Spears’ Oops I Did It Again hum in her ears as the woman moves across the ice in perfect unison with another. An unfamiliar man, who is a partner only because Marina couldn’t convince her new best friend Kevin to train for an ice skating competition with her.
Fury scorches Allison’s bones. Kevin Day truly knows no limits to his abilities, does he? She is just as good a skater as Kevin, if not better, yet Marina hasn’t considered the possibility of a same-sex duo. This music is more for two women than a man and a woman. Allison wonders how Marina hasn’t made that happen yet.
Marina skates to the exit of the rink, and leans over the edge with a satisfied smile. “Hello Reynolds. It’s a treat to see you at the rink.”
“Hmph. I would say the same, but clearly someone else has captured your undivided attention,” Allison turns her nose in the air. She will not be second best to anyone.
“Oh, don’t be like that. This is a game, and I’m winning.” Marina gently trails a finger over Allison’s sweater, sending shivers down Allison’s spine. “Coffee tomorrow? I hear the athletes have a wonderful barista.”
Allison huffs. “I can’t. I have Exy practice.”
“All day? Don’t let me down on your next competition, Reynolds. I’ll be in the audience cheering for you…” Marina leans in as close as she can, “alone.”

Allison jerks away from Marina, trying to hastily make an escape. The constellations in Marina’s eyes dance in front of her as she bursts through the doors, into fresh air. The smile with perfectly polished teeth. The slight hint of silver in Marina’s eyes.

for kevichi i have a few ideas, and they all start in kevin’s final year at palmetto. since he and jean will be the first of ichirou’s investmets graduating and going pro, ichirou has decided to take an interest in where kevin might go. to the media, they make it seem like an interest from riko’s biological brother in the man who was raised as riko’s brother. letting riko live on or smth like that
ichirou shows up many times. he has a fiancée he’s supposed to be wedding planning with, but he keeps appearing in palmetto to talk business with kevin. he keeps being there when kevin needs someone
andrew and neil do Not like it one bit, and always take on a protective stance whenever ichirou comes knocking during night practices, but kevin willingly goes where ichirou goes. he doesn’t think much of it at first, but he slowly begins to realize he desires ichirou to be near him. because he wants to kiss ichirou and that freaks him out
