[Request: “Chaeyoung jealous of the others members playing and flirting with you”
- The actual ask was wiped but I had this still written in my to do list so.... enjoy!]
It all began when you were in the minivan with the group. You had been invited along on a day trip with Chaeyoung, however, not alone as she had originally hoped. When she had brought up the idea of spending time with you to the other girls they all said they wanted to as well - she didn’t put up a fuss and expected that the day could still run rather smoothly.
You took a seat beside Chaeyoung, she at the window and you in the aisle. You knew just how much she loved daydreaming as she looked out the window, watching the world pass by.
“Hey Y/n! Are you excited for today?” Nayeon asked from the back of the van, breaking the silence.
You nodded, “Yeah, I think it will be fun.”
The group were headed to a theme park followed by a dinner at an upscale restaurant to celebrate their success.
“Y/n! Will you go on the big scary ride with me?” asked Sana with a huge smile.
“Of course,” you replied. You couldn’t be seen as a scaredy-cat in front of them.
Chaeyoung frowned and nudged you, “But... I wanted to go on that ride with you....”
“Why don’t we all go on?” you suggested.
From the seat behind you, Dahyun piped up, “Nu-uh not me!”
Chaeyoung just slouched down on her seat.
After an awkward hour of driving you were finally at the destination.
“Woah... this place is huge!” you exclaimed.
Nayeon clapped her hands in excitement, “Right? And it’s hired out just for us today!”
“Thanks to the company card, of course,” Jihyo added, “Let’s be grateful for this fun experience.”
Sana walked up behind you and linked arms with you, “Let’s go, y/n!” She pointed to the tall ride in the distance.
“A-are you sure you want to go on that right now?” you asked.
“Hmm.... okay. Maybe we should ask the others first?”
Chaeyoung’s eyes caught yours, inside them you could see the disappointment. You remembered just as you were planning this trip a few weeks ago Chaeyoung had expressed that she wanted to hold your hand on the rides so she could feel less scared.
She walked away on her own towards an icecream stand.
Only her and Dahyun remained, the rest of the group joined on the frighteningly fast ride.
“Hey Chae, what’s up?” Dahyun perched down on the bench beside her.
Chaeyoung’s head was against the table and the icecream in her hand was melting, dripping down the cone and across her hand.
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Liar. Only sad people let icecream go to waste.”
Chaeyoung lifted her head and sighed, “Fine. You got me.”
“What’s the matter? Is it y/n?” Dahyun asked.
“Yeah. I wanted to spend time with y/n, you know how I feel about them.”
Dahyun nodded in understanding, “I’m sure they didn’t mean anything by going on the ride with Sana....”
“I know that. It’s just these stupid feelings.”
Before the two could continue their conversation the rest of the group returned. They all sat round the table, except you. Instead you stood behind Chaeyoung and wrapped your arms around her warmly.
“I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m sorry,” you spoke softly.
Sana reached for Chaeyoung’s hand, “I’m sorry as well. I didn’t know how much everything meant to you.”
Chaeyoung let a tear slip down her cheek. “It’s okay, let’s just have fun.”
