youtube knows i've been learning about different types of throat singing lately so it gave me this video of a dad & his daughter. this is mongolian musician batzorig vaanchig singing khoomei & playing the tovshuur (two-stringed lute) while his daughter maral accompanies & does percussion on the shagai (sheep ankle bones). 💙❤️

This piece takes you on at trip through central Siberia, from the throat-singing peoples and beautiful mountains in the south to the arctic tundra and deep shamanic traditions of the north.

This was my biggest project of 2023. I wrote this piece and an essay as my final degree project in composition, all about Siberian indigenousgroups and their music.

今年もトゥバ音楽演奏家・喉歌歌手の寺田亮平と、バーンスリー奏者の寺原太郎のデュオライブをタシデレで開催します。

トゥバ共和国は、ロシア連邦の中でも数少ないチベット仏教国。街中や生活の中には当た り前にチベット文化が溢れています。2010 年から現地で長期にわたって音楽修行を続けて来た寺田亮平が、寺原氏とのデュオライブに加えて、スライド写真などをお見せしながら、トゥバの中で出会ったチベット文化についてお話します。
