(Books are in no particular order.)
All books featured this week will be released: MAR. 27th
1. The Queens of Innis Lear: Tessa Gratton (goodreads) (book depository)
Inspired by Shakespeare’s King Lear, Gratton’s The Queens of Innis Lear follows sisters Gaela, Reagan, and Elia who each know that the only chance for their kingdom and it’s magic to survive is if their father choses a new heir. But their prophecy-obsessed father refuses to do it until the right time. The sisters know that prophecies got them into this mess and will not get them out, and that a bloody civil war is on the horizon.

Penny is a college freshman looking to change her life. Sam works (and lives) in a coffee shop, and hopes that all his struggles will be worth it when he becomes a successful movie director. 3. Reflection (Twisted Tails: 4): Elizabeth Lim (goodreads) (book depository)
Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies that people always seemed to forget about, so this is such a fun book to read. Elizabeth Lim’s Reflection follows Mulan, still disguised as Ping, as she ventures to Diyu, the Underworld, to save Captain Shang after he’s wounded in battle. A mix between Mulan and Hercules seems like such an awesome combination, so I cannot wait to read this book.
YA Fantasy, Retelling; Disney, Hardcover (US)

Dara’s always lived a sheltered life with her mother, Mellie, but has always wanted just a bit more. 5. Ice Wolves (Elementals: 1): Amie Kaufman (goodreads) (book depository)
We’re seriously being spoiled with Amie Kaufman books this month, hell these past three months. Ice Wolves is her first solo work, and I’m so so so excited for it. The novel follows twins Anders and Rayna as they’re pulled down two separate paths. When Rayna is taken away by scorch dragons after she takes their elemental form, Anders is prepared to do anything he can. Even enlist at Ulfar Academy, a school for children who are ice wolves elementals who value loyalty above all else — including family.

Inspired by Hindu mythology, the story follows twelve year-old Aru Shah who makes up stories to make her life seem more exciting than it is. Who wouldn’t if you spent autumn break at home while your classmates ventured the world?
