when you talk about asians, are you talking about all asians, or just east asians?
for a long time, my brain didn't register me as asian. i forgot i was asian. i associated being asian with east asians (and occasionally southeast asians but they also deal with the same shit all other non-east asians do).
i still forget i'm asian sometimes.
i still keep thinking about east asians when i hear the word 'asian'.
when people talk about the privileges asians have over other coloured people, they think of east asians.
most discussions about asian oppression centers east asians.
east asians are oppressed. this is true.
but they are not the only asians.
if you wanna talk about east asians specifically, say so.
stop acting like the rest of us don't exist.
