☕ + team edward vs team jacob. both when that discourse was relevant and what ur opinion currently is
OHH i've had this discussion many MANY times in my lifetime.... i used to be team jacob because i thought taylor lautner was hotter. this was my whole reasoning. i was 10 and i thought this was a solid argument (and it was). i later switched to team edward because of peer pressure.
i have friends on both sides of the discussion (the words "team jacob" are uttered with as much disgust by some of my friends as "team edward" are by the others) but in my heart... i am team jacob.
he's the obvious choice!!! he's sweet. he ate spaghetti with her. he actually has a warm body. he's not over a century old. they have a very balanced relationship, they actually enjoy hanging out and doing stuff together. he would under no circumstance turn bella into a vampire (core theme in twilight. i've thought about this a lot. the story in incapable of having a happy ending by making her turn into a vampire at the end).
but THEN, smeyer turned him into a werewolf and completely wrecked his character and i am forever left mourning my sweet boy who fixes motorcycles and cares about her health. he became the same kind of possessive that makes edward a terrible boyfriend in general and destroys their friendship because bella has no interest in a romantic relationship. this is ironic, because his main redeeming quality used to be that he would silently judge bella for hanging out w the cullens but allow her to live her life anyway, something edward is entirely incapable of. smeyer why did you make him fall in love with bella's egg
like, i guess the same could be said for edward. he sucks tremendously in new moon in the same way that jacob sucks tremendously post-new moon, but jacob at his best is better than edward at his best. so jacob it is.
