Olivia Liang to Star in “Kung Fu” Reboot
Olivia Liang will star in the CW’s new Kung Fu series. Christina M. Kim is writing the series which also stars Tzi Ma, Kheng Hua Tan, Jon Prasida, Shannon Dang, and Eddie Liu.
Inspired by Ed Spielman’s 1972 series, The CW’s Kung Fu follows Nicky Chen (Liang), a young Chinese-American woman who drops out of college and goes to a monastery in China. When she returns home she finds her town overrun with crime, so she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect people and bring criminals to justice. In addition, she is searching for the assassin who murdered her mentor and who is now targeting her.
