The function room looked amazing, most of the crowd seemed to be having fun, and the music wasn’t bad, but Ash hadn’t yet spotted any of her friends. Earlier in the day, she’d had to put up with the long ride back to campus from home. She’d only kept her sanity by blocking out her mother’s ranting with her loudest playlist of rock music. There was no question about attending the New Years Eve Party. She needed a little fun to make up for all the stress of Christmas Break. Hell, for once in the past week, she could dress up just because she wanted to.
She was wandering around, examining the decor and searching for any familiar faces -- not exactly paying attention to her surroundings -- when she collided with the other person. Her attention restored by the accident, she took a step back and apologized. “Oh, gods-- I’m sorry. I was just... looking for a friend. It’s been a- long day.” A weak chuckle slipped from her throat. "I hope I didn't step on your toes, or anything. From what I've seen, dancing's been pretty popular this evening. I wouldn't want to spoil your fun."
