Everyone should buy this when it comes out on May 16th because IT IS SO GOOD. The tension is just 🤌🤌🤌. Second chance romance and hockey? I'm a third of the way through and Gil and Sebastian own me, heart and soul. 😌

Light up the Lamp by Kit Oliver I really loved Cattle Stop by Kit Oliver, and I also love sport romance, so when I saw Kit Oliver's next book was a hockey romance I was so excited to receive an ARC, and this did not disappoint! We have: - Hockey player gets moved from being third line in a great team to being one of the best players at a shit team - One of the coaches at the new team is the hockey player's ex-boyfriend/childhood friend - Add in a sprinkle of daddy issues and family drama - SO MUCH FUCKING ANGST And I absolutely loved every second of it 😌 I was absorbed into the story from the first page. I don't read a lot of second chance romances, but I DO love a good childhood friends to lovers, AND the conflict of teammate x coach romances, and I LOVE how this book manages to juggle all of those big feelings together to make a really lovely romance story here. And not only is there angst around Gil's relationship with Sebastian, but there's a lot of big feelings around his relationships with his parents and his brothers too, and some fun characters in the San Francisco Sea Lions team and management. If you love Gravity and the Rest of the Story by Tal Bauer you'll also love this!
