I have a new personality now (in case y'all been wondering why my obsessive posting as been sporadic). Find me in the Tal Bauer universe, floating amongst love at first sight, hockey, football, secret service agents, and political thrillers with crazy twists and turns, and hot smut. I've fallen in the pit and can't get out. I've read 11 books in less than three weeks. I'm scared about what I'm going to do when I run out of books. Plz send help. Also plz come join me in my tar pit of hot men, and sweet romance, and sexy smut.
This has been a public service announcement.
rereading (listening to) enemies of the state by tal bauer and screaming every 5 minutes, because like, this book/series truly has everything?
an honest to god slow burn that doesn’t exist in romance books anymore
the main couple you would die for (except they’d try to die for each other first). side couples you’d want to see more of
dramatic and violent but also soft and sweet
starts somewhere close to our reality (with some unfortunate parallels ngl) but then the plot goes in some absolutely insane directions
big feelings everywhere all the time
plot twist after plot twist after plot twist after plot twist
audiobook? oscar worthy
sometimes you reread a book and it’s not as good as you remembered, but in this case, 10/10, absolutely zero notes
It's terrible. This had never happened to me while reading a book before, but I ended up doing a mental fancast for the main characters of You & Me by Tal Bauer. Don't judge my mental fancast too harshly, because I'm absolutely convinced by it.
Swann Arlaud as Luke Hale
Colin O'Donoghue as Landon Larsen
Britain Dalton as Emmet Hale and Dylan Arnold as Bowen Larsen
As for the book itself, it's a lovely love story between two men in their forties, as well as a beautiful story about fatherhood. Anyway, it's really great, and if you can : read it.
I've rarely loved a love story as much as this one. Everything feels so natural, and they communicate so well. I also love seeing adults who are already well established in their lives fall in love. The characters are incredibly endearing, and this is definitely the kind of book I'll read again.
Queer Books!
The last couple years, I've posted about queer books I've read and authors who write queer stories, and this year, I'm at it again!

I love Tal Bauer's novels because they're always the most insane over the top political thriller shit you can conceive of plus wall to wall hot, romantic gay sex. Like yes let's have the sweetest service top US Marshal fall in love with the super earnest federal judge he's assigned to protect while they get caught up in a...*checks notes* botched CIA false flag operation on American soil to assassinate the Russian president on the steps of the US Capitol during a Pride parade. And let's throw in some blatant Top Gun-esque volleyball scenes that are explicitly queer. And also the US marshal's best friend is the cuntiest CIA agent you've ever met...he wears eyeliner and crop tops and is the most delightful scene-stealing side character.
It would be fucking life changing for me if Jacob Tierney even knew that You & Me by Tal Bauer existed.
Jacob, please. Jacob, I need this on a spiritual level. It would heal me.
Actually, if it needs to be hockey related, Tal has so much to choose from. The Fall and Gravity are right there!
Do you ever miss a series as soon as you stop reading it?
