fic prompt (if you want!) - fem!Shep trying to explain something very commonplace to her (like periods, shaving legs, etc.) to her LI Garrus, who is adorably confused [/i am actual shekarian trash]
(Sorry this took so long I’m so sorry!!!)
“So, what you’re saying is, you’re not dying?”
Shepard tries to keep a straight face but they’ve been going back and forth with this for the past half hour at least, and after talking Garrus down from his panicked state and realizing what was bothering him it had started to become amusing.
“Nope, not dying. Though it feels like it sometimes.”
He makes another squeak of distress and she takes his three fingered hand and rubs it between her own in a gesture that she hopes is comforting.
“Not dying,” she reminds him. “It’s how human women’s bodies deal with not being pregnant. If there’s no baby, we get blood instead.”
He seems to be almost accepting of the idea now, or at least not terrified about the blood in the bathroom.
“There were female humans at C-Sec who I worked with,” he says, sounding almost awed. “They told us about it but we all thought they were lying to scare us.”
She does laugh them, pulling him into her arms and kissing the scars on the side of his face. He chuckles, a little self consciously, and everything is fine for about a week, until he walks in just as Shepard cuts herself shaving. It goes about as well as anyone could expect.
