Made the best gluten free pancakes today. Listened to Pink Floyd while I folded laundry. My knee surgeons nurse called yesterday & told me to take Lyrica for nerve pain I've had since knee arthroscopy. I've felt spacey all day- hence the Pink Floyd. Same amount of nerve zapping down my leg. I hate feeling like I can't do whatever I want cuz my body won't cooperate & the meds mess me up. Thankful for my dog who loves cuddles & for pancakes and hubs help making a small batch of relish yesterday.

Gaining back some more mobility in my leg! I don't need help standing up from the shower chair and I can put my own undergarments on. (Needing help with that was not fun.) Still need help drying my legs, and putting on socks and pants though. I'll get there. I'm getting my stitches out tomorrow morning.

photos from my knee surgery, Wednesday — Saturday I stayed in, surgery was on Thursday. I’m back at home now but I’m going to be on crutches and wearing the hinged knee brace for the next 6 weeks and for the next week I need to be non weight bearing when I try and walk 😳

Hm, wondering if my kneecap still has partial dislocations. I knew that could happen after the surgery, but it's been a few months now. For the past day or so it's felt like it's been slightly out of place though. It hurts (and my knee almost never hurts these days) and keeps cracking.

I'm nervous, (but also kind of excited), about getting my stitches out tomorrow. I'm excited because they'll be gone but nervous because sensory hell. I'm so glad the incisions were small and I don't have many stitches.

I'm amazed by how good my knee feels today. Like, yes, of course it still hurts. I still need the cane to get up and down the stairs, but I don't need to lean on anybody to walk. The doctor said I could be on the crutches for another week, which is totally fine, but it doesn't hurt as much to walk with them and I can take longer strides. This may be also because I'm keeping up with my pain medication instead of letting the pain get away from me.

I don’t have to sleep with my leg elevated anymore! Which means no more back sleeping! I’m definitely a side and stomach sleeper, though I don’t know if I can sleep on my stomach just yet.

I got my stitches out! It was a weird sensation, slightly painful, but they're gone! Now I have strips over the incisions and I can go back to physical therapy.
