Again, I am sorry for being M.I.A. Dealing with school, and physical therapy.

One of the frequently occurring knee injuries is a meniscus tear. It is quite common and can be painful and debilitating. A torn meniscus can result from when a person suddenly changes direction while running. Any activity that causes someone to forcefully twist or rotate their knee, especially when putting full weight on it can result to a meniscus tear.

photos from my knee surgery, Wednesday — Saturday I stayed in, surgery was on Thursday. I’m back at home now but I’m going to be on crutches and wearing the hinged knee brace for the next 6 weeks and for the next week I need to be non weight bearing when I try and walk 😳
hello everyone!
finally making this blog as a place to talk about my experience as a disabled person and to log my journey to getting tested and diagnosed with several health issues. in december of 2017 i had a detached meniscus and went through surgery and physical therapy to get it fixed. i was diagnosed with plica syndrome in the summer of 2018 and went through physical therapy again which didn’t do much for me. i have an unknown reproductive system problem that we think is most likely endometriosis or ovarian cysts. for those of you who follow me on my main blog, @olivier-armstrong-simp, hi! thank you for coming over here to support me! for those of you who don’t follow me on my main blog, hi! it’s nice to meet you!
I’m so happy. It probably wasn’t the smartest choice, but I played tonight!
I was gonna try and get my knee good enough so I could play next weekend. All of a sudden I decided I HAD to do it tonight. So I did!
I somehow managed to play with a completely severed acl and pcl as well as a torn mcl and meniscus. I didn’t even use the most restrictive brace so that I could have more movement.
I was able to run, defend, go into tackles and come out with the ball, and take solid shots. Definitely not as good as I am healthy, but it felt amazing to play. To do SOMETHING!
It really reencouraged me for the rest of my recovery and coming out on the otherside.
So, long story short, I’ve been living with a torn meniscus in my left knee for the past year. My orthopedist has no plans to help me, so I’m needing to take the care of it into my own hands. I’m needing some new stuff to deal with this and I’ve added it to my wishlist if anyone can/wants to help me out. As a reminder, no one is under any obligation to do so.
