my knee fucked up again...
I’m finally getting a CT scan on my knee tomorrow after avoiding doing so for years. the degradation is so prevalent, I can no longer delay seeking treatment even if the outcome may be undergoing brutally painstaking cartilage replacement surgery. this year alone I’ve experienced patellar subluxation of both right and left knees at LEAST half a dozen different times. my leg was stuck in a cross legged awkward position for a half second too long before I could adjust myself to be able to straighten my leg and pop it back in place and I just know that instance stretched the cartilage detrimentally. went on a mild hike earlier and came home to shifty kneecaps while merely standing and balancing my weight and that was the last straw.
So, long story short, I’ve been living with a torn meniscus in my left knee for the past year. My orthopedist has no plans to help me, so I’m needing to take the care of it into my own hands. I’m needing some new stuff to deal with this and I’ve added it to my wishlist if anyone can/wants to help me out. As a reminder, no one is under any obligation to do so.
I guess it's a broken knee day :/
So, as some of you know, my left knee isn’t doing well. Well, now my whole left leg isn’t doing well. Between the constant subluxations and meniscus tear, my hip and ankle are messed up now too. Both my hip and ankle are most likely sprained. I fired my last orthopedist because he was a jerk and brushed me off, so I went to my primary care to see if she had any suggestions. She found another orthopedist about a half hour away that is willing to see what he can do. If that doesn’t work out, then I will go to a place in Boston that deals with congenital orthopedic issues.
I’m just in so much pain and so over this. On the bright side, I have part 1 of my wheelchair evaluation tomorrow!
I’ve listed my Amazon wishlist on here. I have added some things to the list that would really help me out with my leg situation. But remember, no one is under any obligation to get anything from it. Its more of an “what if a rich person sees this!” type deal.
Meniscus Update #1
Yesterday I went to see my primary care to talk about my torn meniscus. When looking through my records, she saw that my orthopedist never saw my MRI results and that my cardiologist closed it out. I don’t know why my cardiologist even looked at it, he had no business being in that file. But, because the results were closed out before my orthopedist knew they were in, he had no idea they were…
