—— ♔ ; Unexpected things often occurred within this city and nothing surprised the citizens but surely, no one was anticipating this. As everyone gathered for the fall festival that was being held, it was only a few hours before everything that could never happen came into play. Before the she knew it, darkness surrounded the entire city, sending everyone into a state of panic. It was a natural reaction considering that there was not a single source of light other than the moon, but Naoto did not know how to deal with this situation that she had been thrown into suddenly. Crowds made their way through another, causing her to get thrown around a bit before she moved off to the side. Eyes began adjusting to the gloaming city but the detective could not make out many of her surroundings. The groups of people started to thin out asyhey took shelter behind and near the buildings where they would not get ran over by the moving multitude. Many questions were brought up as she could make out a couple of conversations that were near her as everyone continued to be fearful and confused, just as Naoto was.
The lanterns that had been placed around the perimeter of the park had been taken which did not leave much light for the girl. She merely stood in a corner by the side of a rather tall structure and searched around, practically blind. This was suspicious and definitely called for an investigation, however, she was a bit too terror-stricken to do much. It got quieter by the moment as people started returning to their apartments. The silence never brought anything good and this statement was true in this circumstance. An inhuman groan was heard nearby, that possibly could not have been from a normal person; and it was practically right behind Naoto. As she pivoted on her heel, she was greeted by the wall of the building that she huddled by. Nothing was there. That was impossible, she thought, as the sound was heard right in her ear. Glancing around for a moment, she finally gave up and nervously crossed her arms, staying in place.
She did not want to move and create a burden for anyone passing by, but she did not feel comfortable by standing idly around. However, navigating oneself through the darkened city would be quite difficult and it would probably end up with her bumping into everyone. The most Naoto could do at the moment was to wait for the lights to come back on and fill the city with cheer once more. The detective slumped on the floor, back against the wall and let out a shaky sigh. She was more than nervous, and did not like the atmosphere of this city that was once in good spirits during the festival. Now, everything was a disaster and her skin was numb from the air of the chilly night. As she pulled her arms over her knees and huddled in close, she rested her head on the top of her knees. It was time to play the waiting game.
