Day 11 of OCR Training
My morning was spent hiking up Koko Head with a friend. I felt 10 times better than the first time I climbed it. Training is working and confidence is growing!
After, we got coffee at this quaint little place on the water and shared our breakfast with the birds ☺️
Later in the evening and after a nap, I did today’s workout.
5 rounds Grind: 10 lunges, 4 pull-ups, 8 burpees
Then a 20 minute AMRAP: 5 sandbag tosses, 10 sandbag drags, 100m run with sandbag. Then I worked on a few rope climbs- want to be used to climbing in a tired state. I think the rope climb in the race is near the end.
Pics from today. Went to the beach for a bit. Then hiked up the Koko Head crater trail.
September 24, 2021-Friday
I woke up before 6AM.
Pume returned today after she was quarantine.
Another crazy day, but no altercations, or rather almost fights.
Faye returned as well, but not thrilled to see her.
I discovered that we are in quarantine until the 30th, when we can walk out the door unchaperoned.
This being the go-between for staff is so tiring. These women are more needy than a little child. For the most part, they do listen to me, but they have so many nonsensical questions. For instance, Brenda can’t quite grasp the concept of why we’re in quarantine. What is quarantine. What is the 10 days. So, with her, I wrote on her calendar when exactly she could go to 7-Eleven by herself.
Frick and Frack- the Tweedle twins were together in the laundry room and I couldn’t stay long because my nerves can’t take annoying duo together.
Now that I am going to be in here longer than I realized I need to order groceries(which I never did).
I still don’t understand why some of the guest burp like a man who has drank a case of beer.
Psalm 37:8 ESV-“Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.”
Koko Head
Hawaii 🌅
Someone thought it would be a simply brilliant idea to climb Koko Head for the sunrise. The view was worth it but the hike was torture in disguise (not a very good disguise, either). The whole hike is less than a mile long, and gains 900 ft in elevation in uneven stairs made of railroad ties and loose dirt.
