Khonthup has released the episode 0 of Doctor's Mine and I watched it so you don't have to. This episode is an introduction to the series and it gives more in-deep what we can expect from the series. It's an interview where the director, producer and the six main actors answer few questions about the series.
Doctor's Mine is the series version of two combined books "Gown and Gear" and "Extern" by I'm Mynt, with four main characters who are interconnected. In their way of wanting to show the diversity of teenage love, the producer decided to add two more couples in the series.
Both the director and producer said that there are a lot of BL nowadays and they are aware of this fact. Their inspiration for this series was to show the atmosphere of BL from before and to return to the basic (that's why we're seeing engineers again). They are targeting an audience who is nostalgic of BLs happening in a university setting and that focus on friendship, love and family. The story takes place in Chiang Mai, in the North of Thailand.
Long Lee is playing Knight, an engineering student. When dealing with his problem, Knight chooses to keep everything for himself.
Arm is playing Mild, a medical student. He is quietly stubborn and quite naughty.
Mon is playing Per, an engineering student. Per is a romantic person: tough on the outside, but soft in the inside. He is also serious and sincere.
Park is playing a medical student called Kan. He is someone who keeps his feelings for himself and he is afraid of speaking them out. He thinks he is in control of his emotions.
Top is playing Tum a medical student. Top said his personality is close to the character he is playing, but he didn't give more info about it.
Krismon is playing Tonklah who is another medical student. This character is confident and loves his friends.
The main couple Knight and Mild will share a love that is deeply rooted and long lasting. They are supposed to represent the idealistic love everyone aspire to have.
The second couple Per and Kan are more spontaneous and "flashy" (?). It will happen suddenly and they will fall in love without knowing when it began.
Tum and Tonklah are representing the good old friends-to-lovers trope. They will show what's happening when there are hidden feelings for a friend.
Finally, they gave some info about the GL couple which I believe is an original creation only for the series. They didn't have their name and unfortunately MDL hasn't updated the page, so I will just add what they said in the video. They will embody the idea that "if you hurt, I hurt too" kind of bond.
They didn't have a lot of time to shoot the series and there were many people to work with. So, they worked a lot to do all the scenes they had to make in Chiang Mai. They said they only had 10 days so no one took any breaks. It was challenging, but everyone was well-prepared.
They also talked about their partnership, the most memorable scene or performance in the series and they finally ended this episode with their hope that everyone will enjoy the series.
