#konoha bashing

"I actually agree with many people in the fandom: the Uzumaki clan is gaining more strength and importance now than it did in the past.But that's not really what I came here to say. I'm frustrated because Naruto was barely given anything from his clan, except for his incredible stamina. Instead, it feels like he inherited more from Minato, even though genetically Minato's genes shouldn't have been dominant.A clear example of strong Uzumaki heritage would be Nagato, whose father had black hair, yet Nagato still inherited the Uzumaki’s signature red hair.Also, there are theories suggesting that Nagato's father might have been a Senju, based on Zetsu's suspicions. Nagato could control the Gedo Statue due to his immense chakra reserves and could wield both Rinnegan without losing his sanity.This frustrates me because many people claim (based only on the Databooks) that the Uchiha have the most powerful chakra, but cases like Nagato show that the Uzumaki had incredible chakra reserves and power too.So, why didn't Naruto inherit more traits or abilities from his mother's clan?I don't really care that back then many manga protagonists were blond, but it frustrates me that Konoha also did nothing to protect or honor the Uzumaki clan, even though they were distant relatives of the Senju.Lastly, what do you think about what's happening in the fandom nowadays? Many artists are pairing Uchiha and Uzumaki characters — do you think it makes sense, or is there another reason behind this trend?"

I am very, very new to the naruto fandom and generally avoid it, but it's nice to know that the fandom in general has taken more of an interest in the Uzumaki Clan. Canon really didn't provide much to work with.

I think Naruto having so few things things from the Uzumaki clan is because Kishimoto never cared to expand on his female characters. The Uzumaki Clan's known members are Mito, Kushina, Karin, Naruto and Nagato. Of them, Nagato is a villain, and excluding Naruto the rest of them are women. The manga does not have a good track record with expanding on any of the women. Nagato doesn't identify himself as an Uzumaki, so he can't be really used to explore things. Kushina, Mito and Karin are the only ones remaining characters to explore. I know the narusasu side of the fandom seems to think.....Kishimoto is somehow not misogynistic? But he blatantly is.

It's the only reason why Naruto doesn't have Uzumaki characteristics. It's also why the Uchiha Clan is explore so thoroughly. How do we explore a clan? Through characters. Itachi, Obito, Madara and Sasuke are the prominent Uchiha Clan members and are also largely main characters. Even if they're villains or antagonists, they're sympathetic characters. We're meant to understand them. Combine Kishimoto's tendency to highly favor male characters, Sasuke's antagonist/deuteragonist status, and Madara being one of the main villains? It's the perfect set-up to explore the Uchiha.

Naruto is the only Uzumaki and he doesn't even know he's from the clan. The ones who know this are dead. Tsunade is half Uzumaki(or quarter), but again, she's a woman, we barely explore her being a Senju.

Konoha didn't protect or preserve the Uzumaki Clan because, and I'll be frank, it seems like they don't respect or care about the clan beyond how useful they are to Konoha. The level of importance and respect Konoha gives to a clan is dependent on how much of a threat they are to the village's norms(Senju and Senju-related supremacy). It's why the Uchiha were isolated- they were a threat to that. The Uzumaki are a foreign clan who were the only ones able to control the Kyuubi.

Konoha is clearly paranoid about consolidating power. The Kyuubi is a weapon for the village. So, you need to control the Uzumaki and keep them firmly under the heel to control the kyuubi.

The reason for Uzushio's destruction are yet unclear but it was very advantageous for Konoha. the Uzumaki clan were nothing but tools to control their prized weapon. It's why they practically kidnapped Kushina and never told Naruto about the Uzumaki Clan. It's to control the kyuubi and keep Konoha at the top of the food chain.

I think it's nice to see fandom exploring the Uzumaki Clan! I hope to see more! I really like the idea of Karin and Naruto reconnecting.

I have no real opinions on fans pairing Uzumaki and Uchiha Clan members, it's fun! It's a ship thing, so as long as everyone is being respectful and discerning, go ahead! I mean I'm pairing an Uchiha and Uzumaki too (NaruSasu lol). I think I saw a bit of Kushina/ Mikoto. May I know who else are the fandom shipping together?

Don't kill me but I'm intrigued by a potential relationship between Mito and Madara(not romantic per se, just them as friends). He recognized Naruto's kyuubi mode and recognized him as being related to Mito through that. I think she would've been able to keep up with him and he respected her a lot.

I would love anything so long as I get more nuanced and fun Mito, Karin and Kushina content!!

I love this fic!

Young Sasuke Uchiha becomes a social justice warrior, this somehow leading to: his clan not being massacred and succeeding in their coup, the Hyuga branch family being freed and having their own coup, and Naruto gaining a supportive best friend and parental figure.

Like, not to ruin anyone's fun or anything, but i think a lot of SNS shippers kinda ignore how much Konoha and it's people mean to Naruto and Sasuke.

Sasuke can't STAND the place for most of Shippuden, and when he makes his peace with it he still keeps himself away, he protects it because it's his precious people's home (Naruto, Sakura and Sarada) and nothing else, it's beyond clear by his actions that if the people he cared about didn't care abt Konoha, he would've exploded the place no remorse; Sasuke cannot live in Konoha and be happy

Naruto, in the other hand, loves the place no matter what it has done to him, he loves his precious people and most of them are in it, he loves the little ramen stall that accepted him so long ago, he loves everything about Konohagakure the village and everything he dislikes he'll change cause he is Hokage, even if Boruto shows him quite tired and unhappy, i just know that the Naruto i saw from most of his series worked beyond hard to make Konoha a better place, Naruto worked his entire life to make Konoha home, he wouldn't abandon it: Naruto cannot live outside of Konoha and be happy

SNS is my favorite ship, but the thing in their dynamic is that they don't know how to compromise, ever, it's always one of their ways winning over the other; So, to end this, what i really mean to say is that if you're writing or doing smt based on SNS, know that what they really really need is to learn how to compromise the wildly different goals in life, also don't make Sasuke a bootlicker or i will stomp you to death with my hooves

Summary: Sasuke didn't think he'd survive his battle with Itachi, but he did. He didn't think he would survive his final battle with Naruto, but he did.

Now he has to live---but not in Konoha.

Review: This is one of my favorite Naruto fanfictions. Mainly because of its focus on Sasuke and Team Hebi.

I don't think many authors grasp or focus on the enormity of Sasuke's grief and how hard it would be to stay in Konoha - or have anything to do with the village - after everything. Naruto was probably the only thing worth staying there for, but even he’d never seemed able to see things from Sasuke's pov. He was still loyal to Konoha after everything that'd been done to him, after all. Sasuke definitely shouldn't feel or be obligated to stay for his benefit. If Naruto cared, he'd want Sasuke to be happy, even if it meant not being there. The blond has a major stubborn streak about Sasuke in particular, though.

I love that Naruto doesn't become Hokage here. I never thought Naruto would make a good Hokage - or be happy doing it. He never wanted to be Hokage, truly; he just wanted the respect and admiration that came with the job.

Team-Hebi-as-family is something I live for. These characters should have gotten way more screen time and development than they did. They were the team Sasuke chose. It's a shame the story didn't end this way: With them all going off together and becoming a family for real. Love that Sarada is Sasuke and Karin's child, but the whole group takes care of her as though she's their own. Her personality is perfectly done. She's extremely smart and likable. Her lecture to the elders was perfect in how true it was.

The fact that Konoha basically kidnapped her and tried using her as collateral to get Sasuke and his bloodline back was despicable but very on par with their politics. They can't stand to lose and refuse to take responsibility or even admit when they're wrong. The Uchiha deserved justice, but whenever anybody from that village hears the word, they read it as revenge - as if incapable of separating the two concepts.

Sasuke is an amazing father here. I love that. I hate what they do with Sasuke and Sarada's relationship in canon. I'd like to imagine that if Sasuke ever had children, he'd move heaven and hell to not be separated from them, given he'd already lost all of his other family. Having him be the absentee dad in canon made me rage.

Love the Ino scenes. At least some of the Rookie 9 here saw the injustice and tried to do something about it. Sadly, they were even more understanding than Naruto. Unfortunately, once again, though, not out of character.

I wish all these characters a happy ending. Team Hebi's interactions here were the true definition of Team-as-Family for me. Much better than that short-lived mess that Team 7 was back in the day.
