Kings of Paradise Moodboards
For the game 3rd Anniversary, the Enablers of Paradise Discord organised a week of activities, among which, there was the possibility of making moodboards. And since I don't need a excuse to procrastinate from work, I decided to try... And my Muse decided to wake up after months of not creating anything and I made three, one for Taki, another one for MC and since they're my favourite pair in the game, one of them together ^^
I hope Muse decides to stay for a long time (at least, for the summer!).

my annoyance with how people treat the kings of paradise mc
this is kind of nowhere but i just thought i should just voice my thoughts on people's attitude towards the kings of paradise mc.
the way that people act towards her is annoying considering the fact that the game is built on the fact that the mc was in an emotionally abusive relationship and she is still dealing with having formerly been in an abusive relationship.
people get upset at the fact that mc is a doormat, and i understand their reasoning for getting annoyed at the mc being a pushover to an extent. but i don't think people understand that tomohiro(ex-husband of mc) was emotionally abusive and he was shown to put her down multiple times and it has been shown/ implied that mc was significantly different when she was younger before she met tomohiro. she was taught to be obedient and a pushover by her ex-husband.
i know that i don't have much room to speak as i personally have never been in an abusive relationship(physical or emotional), but i believe that i can attempt to explain to people why the mc is the way that she is in the story, having had
grown up with an emotionally abusive mother. mc in the story is shown to be emotionally abused by tomohiro multiple times, even when they get divorced. i mean if tomohiro acts this way towards mc after they get divorced imagine what it was like for mc considering the fact that mc was married to tomohiro for four years. imagine constantly being put down the way that tomohiro puts down for four years, and even if he wasn't abusive towards the mc for the four years that they were married being emotionally abused constantly for a year to even just a month can do things to your emotional and mental well being.
i mean the way that mc acts and the way she acts around tomohiro it appears she is somewhat afraid of him. when you are in a relationship where you are constantly told to never speak up or treated as if speaking up and defending yourself is a bad thing you won't speak up either because you are afraid to or because you just can't, when you are finally given the chance to stand up for yourself you can't do it because you are scared of the consequences.
personally, i relate with the mc multiple times through the game because as if said before i grew up with an emotionally abusive mother(who is still ea) i understand why she has difficulty standing up for yourself out of fear, when my mother used to live with my dad and brother i almost never spoke to her or spoke in general out of fear of saying something wrong.
like i said earlier i grew up by an emotionally abusive mother so when i first played kings of paradise i enjoyed the game and appreciated voltage for the way that they portrayed emotional abuse and the effects that emotional abuse has on its victims. so when i went on tumblr and saw every saying that the kop mc was bad i was shocked because if i'm being honest i thought tumblr would've said that voltage badly portrayed emotional abuse, i didn't think that people would get mad at voltage for portraying an emotional abuse victim as, well an emotional abuse victim.
i would like to say before anyone gets mad at me, i don't have a problem with anyone getting frustrated with the mc being the way she is, there have been multiple circumstances where i've been frustrated with the mcs are in voltage games or otome games in general but the way that people were and are acting was as if they were blaming the mc and the way that some people were acting made me think that people thought that the moment emotional abuse victims are out of a relationship with their abusers they no longer show signs of their abuse and they go back to "normal".
i'm sorry that i ranted, i just wanted to get this off of my chest as took a lot of this personally(which i know is stupid considering this is just a game) because the way people were acting just reminded me of my mother who constantly tells me that me acting "timid" and a "pushover" is annoying. i would like to reiterate that this is no hate towards people that dislike mc for being a pushover, i just wanted people to know that the mc is an emotional abuse victim and they shouldn't get mad at voltage for portraying an emotional abuse victim as an emotional abuse victim, because personally is believe that voltage should be given some props for the way that they portrayed the mc as an emotional abuse victim and how she went from being timid and a pushover to someone who is learning to love themselves and stand up for themselves to become strong.
tl;dr : kop mc is an emotional abuse victim and victims of emotional abuse tend to act very meek(i'm not saying all emotional abuse victims) and it is very common for some victims to act the way that the mc acts because they are "taught" to be, well a doormat.
so don't hate on voltage for portraying an emotional abuse victim as an emotional abuse victim
