tell me more things about shinorm soulmates au, feel like I haven’t heard much abt that one in a while!
You sent this while I was giffing possessed Orm and it got me going hmmm... when two minds are connected by a soulmate bond, what happens when one of those people gets possessed?
Would Stephen be able to feel and hear what's going on, or would the possession block or break the bond (and would that be temporary or permanent)? Would Stephen's presence in his mind be a source of strength for Orm, a vulnerability for Kordax to take advantage of, or both? Would Kordax even know the bond is there, or is that something a possession can't touch?
And if it is something Kordax would've been aware of... what could the plot implications be? Stephen was the first of the duo to pick up the trident and feel his power - would Kordax have noticed the bond then, and would it have been a tantalizing connection to a potential Atlantean host? Would he have abandoned Manta for Stephen if he sensed that opportunity? Would getting to Orm be an opportunity he'd have to wait for, or would it be possible for him to slip along that connection and jump from Stephen to Orm within seconds? Would Kordax be able to possess both of them simultaneously, at least with partial control? Or would he have preferred to possess one while hissing threats about the other if they fought him?
And even after the possession is broken - could Kordax use it to survive? Could a piece of him zip out of the one breaking the possession and take refuge in the other, either intentionally or accidentally? Could he hide there, in the bond or in one or both of them, coming out occasionally as a connection glitch or a spark of foreign temper or a flare of green eyes while he gathers strength to make another return?
I'm just thinking out loud here, but you know, this could be a fun way to extend the possession angst far beyond what the movie gave us...
Shit.
