Mayncient 2025 - Day 1: Greetings
Reducing something as simple as this prompt to one singular one of our Ancient characters was a little difficult, so...have *all of them in one photo!*
from l to r: Arionne Leaceux (reincarnation of Hythlodaeus), Ceres Miludin, Demeter (Ceres' original Ancient self), Corona Ebenae-Rivers, Koronis (former seat of Loghrif before Gaia), Leon Rivers and Leonidas (Leon's original Ancient self) ...and in the back: Medea (seat of Deudalaphon) and Professor Mirrored Moon (Medea's modern incarnation)
(there are other minor ancient characters that may appear later too!)
Zeus 🤝 Apollo 🤝 Aristaeus
Knocking up Ares’s granddaughters
"When Apollo had made Coronis, daughter of Phlegyas, pregnant, he put a crow in guard, so that no one should violate her. But Ischys, son of Elatus, lay with her, and because of this he was killed by the thunderbolt of Zeus. Apollo struck the pregnant Coronis, and killed her. He took Asclepius from her womb and reared him, but the crow who had guarded her he turned from white to black." (Hyginus, Fabulae 202)
Zeus being like "How dare you cuckold my son?!" is a very fun detail. How did he even find out? Might Apollo have told him?
ok so this is technically identified as apollo but consider that maybe it’s dream of the endless

Reyna and Meg (but mostly Reyna) @ Apollo after hearing about his past with Koronis
Apollo entrusting his son Asclepius to Chiron
Asclepius was the son of Apollo and a mortal woman named Koronis. When Koronis was pregnant, she had an affair while Apollo was away and for this act she was killed by Artemis. When her body was laid on the pyre, Apollo tried to revive his dead lover but in vain. However, he managed to save their unborn child by cutting open her belly. He named the child Asclepius. Asclepius was taught by his father about medicine in his early years. But once the boy was old enough, Apollo entrusted him under the guidance of Chiron, the wise centaur skilled in medicinal arts. Asclepius would later grow up to be the most talented physician, outdoing both his father and his mentor.
