Gonna pull from Rane and Korzan's Fantastical Adventures. This is more like a last paragraph for some context lol.

After all, with her injuries, Korzan doubted that she would be much use if something else decided to attack them. And besides, Rane was the only compatriot he had in this world. If he lost her, then he’d really be lost. With nowhere to go, he resigned himself to following her from several feet back.
