FNaF Movie. Afton's death. Fan animation based on art by #kosperry
Going back to that "people treating Disney's style/methods as important yet ignoring how modern cartoons barely follow them if ever anymore" thing. Last time a cartoon actually was like that is fucking Smiling Friends because of Squim. (And also that fan animation on Norm MacDonald). And mainly because Kosperry is a pro at executing that style due to both studying it and animating for so long.
Another thing is the term "overanimation" which in theory could apply to Disney's "loose, probably overproduced if you think about it" animation. But instead it's only thrown at SpongeBob when it has some wacky animation. Also same thing with people calling any show that has fun expressions "meme faces", EVEN when they came from before the internet became common among people. If anything, most modern cartoons are the ones doing "meme faces" because they're made by people that clearly spend a lot of time online and the meme faces clash with the stiff art styles/animation to begin with.
Another thing about "over animation" is that it's never used on 3D animated movies, when you could argue that the Mario movies as "visually busy". SPECIALLY when there's people that hate modern AAA games for looking too bloated (And also do the "WE WANT SHORTER GAMES WITH WORSE GRAPHICS" thing). The cartoon equivalent to "bloated AAA game, guess we gotta see Nathan Drake's hairy ass" should be the 3D animated movies by massive corporations, not when an animator does some goofy faces and movements.
