Krigarè - "Take On Me" (A-ha cover)

this is my second song review. First can be found here.

This week, I was asked to review Krigarè’s cover of “Take on Me”, a song originally by A-ha. The 80s classic is timeless, and Krigarè did an amazing job making a modern rendition of the song. The cover keeps the tone of the original, as well as adding in new modern tones for a unique sound. I also really enjoy how great her voice is for synth-pop.

The music video is also very impressive; as different as it is from the original 80’s music video, the editing and makeup make a great fit for Krigarè’s cover.

Overall, well-made covers like this are bound to prevent 80s music from being forgotten.

While writing this review, I have listened to some of the other song she has posted on YouTube. From listening to the A-ha cover and other songs, I’m very happy she found a genre that blends so well with her amazing voice. As a fan of synth-pop, I have found it difficult to find good artists.

Even though I only discovered her today, Krigarè must be one of my favorites of the synth-pop genre. I highly recommend looking through the rest of her channel if you enjoy this cover. She already has 1.2k subscribers, but I am hoping her fanbase grows and that she gets even larger known as an artist.
