So, since you're an Amadeus Cho guy...

When he was starting outhe was calling himself Mastermind Excello, which is the name of an obscure Golden Age hero.

Shortly after Amadeus debuted, a miniseries came out called The Twelve in which a bunch of obscure Golden Age heroes were resurrected, including the original Mastermind Excello.

Despite a panel from The Twelve being used in a recap page of Incredible Hercules at least once, to my knowledge the two never met.

Is my knowledge correct?

yeah they never met. amadeus really didnt even use the name it was more to connect him to an older hero so he wasnt quite so new. I feel like all things consided i wouldnt even count it as one of Amadeus's official codenames because as far as I can remember he doesnt ever use it as a codename it only refers to the soap company that crowned him 7th smartest in the world. while prince of power I feel like at least he had some legacy to that. mastermind excello was kinda random

Tim Drake has absolutely no idea that he is super-hawt, largely because, when you spend as much time with Kon and Dick as he does, it's very hard not to think of yourself as looking like a troll in comparison.

OK, I know you're a big fan of casting an East Asain actor as Namor, and I agree that your logic is sound. But, would you disagree that, on the page, he should be portrayed as having facial features unlike those of any actual racial or ethnic group? Specifically, that he ought to look like one of the creepier takes on Elves and Angels, beautiful but in a way that is fey and inhuman?

Oh for sure! When I say Namor should be played by a Native or East Asian or Pacific Islander or other actors of color, it’s because I feel Namor being biracial is very important to his character and it would be better portrayed by such actors. However in comics, art styles swing so wildly from one artist to the next that it’s impossible to find one Namor “look” that is consistent. I personally think Namor being drawn as more otherworldly in the comics is one of my favorite things, I’m a huge fan of how he looks in these arts because it gives off a sense of something “not quite human”

I just have issues with people drawing Namor as another ugly white character with a receding hair line and pointy ears. lol. 

Namor needs to have a very otherworldly beauty in whatever he is drawn in.

Haha, don’t feel bad! As long as you enjoy reading it that is what matters most to me. Really this blog mostly just started as a place for me to keep track of what I’ve been reading and crack jokes and stuff... I never expected to get even a quarter of the followers I have now.

So, the following question was asked on a forum i frequent, and I was wondering how you'd answer: What are the notable Transformers Storylines? The TMNT have stuff like the Multiversal Nexus, the Fugitoid arc, and of course the war with the Footclan. Batman's got The long Halloween, Death in the Family, Court of Owls, Killing Joke, etc. Spider-Man's got the Night Gwen Stacy Died, Kraven's Last Hunt, etc. What storylines does the Transformers Franchise have?

Because Transformers doesn’t have an “original” piece of fiction that all subsequent works are adapted from - having had multiple, in the form of both the Marvel comic and cartoon, running concurrently from the outset - I don’t think it truly has anything on that level. The Transformers: The Movie is probably the one story that has most reverberated throughout the brand’s history, shaping its lore and characters in ways that are still ongoing today, but it’s not a story that’s adapted or re-told in other media to the extent that those examples you’ve given are. I suppose when we think of “epic” Transformers stories, the big era-defining ones that get a graphic novel to themselves, the ones that come to mind are things like Marvel UK’s “Target: 2006″ and “Time Wars,” but even they are outgrowths of TFTM.

You wouldn't happen to have any thoughts about the new trailer for "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms", and especially the fact that there's no Nutcracker in it?

The thing is, we have so many books in the epic/heroic/high fantasy subgenre, and even so many movies in that department that could stand to be remade (i.e. The Black Cauldron, Disney)--to the point that this kind of fantasy storytelling is actually a bit overrepresented--that it’s astonishing to me that Disney could take fantasy stories that don’t fit into that mold, and force them into that mold at the expense of other works that could be adapted and would be better suited for the kind of movie their algorithm wants them to make (I refuse to believe any artistic vision went into Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland). It’s just the weirdest unorginality being piled on top of unoriginality. Like taking The Caves of Steel and turning it into a space opera about a ragtag bunch of misfits bringing down an evil empire. Or, uh, I, Robot.

Batman has come up with *multiple* plans to take himself out if he goes bad, and had them erased from his memory via various means to ensure he can't come up with counter-plans. Different plans have been given to J'onn, Clark, Diana, Dick, Babs, Alfred, Jim Gordon. While all these plans *can* work, the *real* plan was given to Lois, as she's one of the only people he can not only trust with the plan, but can't trick our bully into giving him a hint, and also will not hesitate to put him down.
