The defacto leader of the elder gods and the twin brother of Cthulhu, Kthanid has the appearance of calm and peace, but is in the possession of very powerful abilities which he uses to thwart the activities of the outer gods and great old ones.

Once he stood in their ranks, but finding cause for complaint, would ultimately leave and use his knowledge of the other gods, great old ones, and their worshipers to create the powerful elder signs that each elder god now uses to fight back.

Rarely does Kthanid leave his crystal palace on Elysia, more or less to ensure the bastion of the elder gods is not attacked by opportunistic forces. They tend to be the source of wisdom and stability, unifying the diverse elder gods.

Cthulhu and Kthanid were once very close as siblings, but have long since become estranged since Kthanid's deepened friendship with Nodens. The two continue to search the cosmos, looking for the next individuals who are ready to rise to the occasion to become elder gods and oppose the forces of the outer gods and great old ones.

How I personally imagined a scene from a mutual's fan fiction about gods fighting! Where Loki goes deep within his mind in the midst of his own fight, drowning while the figure Kthanid appears to speak to him inside his head. Only for Sigyn, who Kthanid assumes is a memory to come and defend her husband!
