okay so I’m worried abt the fact that I’ll be testing for my Certified black belt soon (which means I’ll get the Kukkiwon certificate & my name embroidered on my belt) but I’m trans so-

does it have to be my legal name? can I be a shortened version of my legal name?

if there’s any trans folks and/or martial artists who know about this or where I can read up on this please point me in the right direction? thanks

Testing for my red belt! One of our friends from taekwondo was kind and took pictures of me while kicking! (My family are all black belts so they help grade the tests and can't get photos.) The second picture is the first time I've tried doing a split kick! Someday I'll get higher than that! ❤️🥋❤️

Why Kukkiwon's Election Has Me So Frustrated!

I didn't realize I was in THIS exclusive of a category. I am on of less than 17,000 and am eligible for my 6th dan (I'm overdue actually)

And that would make me one of less than 6000! in the COUNTRY

I had no idea it was so few! That is amazing! That number halves at 7th dan, and then PLUMMETs to 300 and then less than 100 for 8th and 9th.

If anything I am MORE motivated
