Ape Escape Multiverse Theory
This may sound far fetched, but it hear me out. There might actually be proof that there are different universes in the AE franchise.
One example would be the different versions of Specter’s origins: In the original trilogy, Specter came to be when he put on a pipo helmet that appeared in the circus and took charge of an army of pipo monkeys. In “Playstation move”, Specter was raised by a human but sent into space. Finally, in the “Saru get you!” series, Specter was originally a baby monkey named Kuuta who belonged to Natsumi, but then became Specter when a pipo helmet materialized and his curiosity got the best of him.
The same could also go for the Freaky Monkey Five. AE2 & AE3 stated that the freaky monkey five were originally 5 apes who were selected by Specter to be fed special Vita-Z bananas to enhance their speed, intelligence and strength. However, in the “Saru get you” anime, the appeared to have been created in containers by Specter, but whether or not they were actually being created or mutated/enhanced from normal monkeys is up for debate.
A parallel could be made between Kuuta and Pipotchi being different versions of one another as well as Hero and Spike due to the similarities in hair colors (In the brief instances that Hero’s hair is visible). There’s also the Pipotron Brothers, in “Pumped n’ Primed” they were completely silent, but in the anime, 2 out of the 3 are very vocal.
Considering that AE has time traveling, talking monkeys, teleportation and mutant animals, it might not be too far off.
