I believe that this girl is somehow kyuubey (or “new" kyuubey), or rather— this girl is/was kyuubey and homura somehow turned him into her + is forcing him to look & act as a magical girl (?) or smth.
for one, is it mentioned by one of the magica quartet that there are apparently magical girls appearing— which, as viewers, we know shouldn’t be possible after rebellion— in mitakihara without having a soul gem. this should be even more impossible.
EDIT: i forgot to mention here that i believe homura is clearly the reason for this— who else would somehow have the power to still “create” magical girls, but would, for some reason, want to prevent them from truly becoming magical girls and having to suffer that existence? homura akemi, ofc.
i think kyuubey could very well be one of those “girls”.
these two clips seem to take place in the same area. i think the 2nd image could be homura (or more specifically, the large hands of her labyrinth) perhaps “birthing”/creating a kind of “body” for kyuubey to inhabit— or literally taking kyuubey’s physical form and somehow shaping/forming it into this kind of vessel/body of a girl.
and not only does the mysterious girl and kyuubey seem to have the same replica of homura’s glasses, but they both also seem to have the same bow that closely resembles homura’s bow as well (but does not seem to be a replica, like the glasses— but then again, all of the girls received a redesign, so it’s likely that homura’s bow could have as well, and that this is indeed meant to be a replica. we will have to wait and see).
i also find it so interesting how the girl’s arrow is this bright red color with a the slightest hint of pink at the center, which reminds me of kyuubey’s eye color.
the mysterious girl also seems to have a rly similar eye shape to moemura’s.
in fact, even her expression in the full image looks exactly like an expression moemura would make…
and, i mean, come on. even if i’m wrong, this can’t be a coincidence.
in addition, in this clip of the trailer, when homura is presumably talking to the other girls while sitting above them to establish an air of mystery, condescension, and dominance, guess who is perched under her the same way like he's her evil pet mastermind in crime?
no one other than kyuubey.
i also find this interesting, bc after rebellion, homura declared that kyuubey would aid her with the despair that is still running rampant around the world, and i am sure that after he used her most vulnerable secret against her, she would have no interest in being so seemingly corrigible with him like she was at the end of the eternals movie/at the end of ep. 12.
i feel like the only way this could make sense was if homura believed she had complete control over the situation, kyuubey included/especially. maybe bc she knows that she has this power over him?
