🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?

hey man you can't ask me THAT. anyway yeah uuhh mouse doesn't remember anything before age ~15 or so. she has recently learned that she might just be literally physically someone's mirror image? so she might not have any parents of her own?? but also she was maybe raised by a dude in a cabin for a few years??? everything is unclear. but for a long time her relationship with her "parents" was in a really strange place, where part of her almost hoped that something had happened to them, because otherwise that meant they had simply left her behind :(

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?

MAZE POLYCULE BELOVED!! okay yes so mara has THREE love interests :) there's charles, our artificer, who was mara's first kiss in the maze- he knows the most about their history, and at this point is probably the one who knows mara the best, and he's very special and important to them. there's the guy, aka alexis, our barbarian, who was mara's second kiss, but who they now have a bit of a complicated relationship with- he's trying to gain immortality, which is what mara is trying to get rid of, and they're having a lot of weird feelings about it and about him. and most recently there's nadzeya, our druid! mara and nadzeya have been flirting for most of the campaign but neither of them have made a move for a variety of reasons and finally nadzeya got Sick Of That Shit and flat-out told mara to kiss her. so they did :)

(charles is dating mara, alexis, and nadzeya, while alexis is dating charles, mara, and an npc named titan, while nadzeya is dating charles and mara and has a bit of a situationship with an npc named clementine. things in the maze are normal and fun and our relationship dynamics are not at all confusing)

i have a quick question! in the rules for stats, you said that you can't have more points in a talent than you have in its associated stat... i'm a bit confused on how that works when you have fewer stat points to allocate than talent points?

because there are many more talents than there are stats! for example, if you were to have 2 stat points in heart, and you wanted to maxize all of your heart talents, then you use eight of your talent points right there - more than half of them.

since a 0 stat is generally unappealing to people due to the fact that a 0 stat by nature is always an automatic failure, with 7 stat points and at most a +1 from species, the highest stat most people (with the exception of some minmaxers) will have at first level is about 3. if you were to maximize all of the talents in a stat with 3 points, you use 12 of your 13 talent points!

most people won't put all of their points in a single stat's talents, of course, but you get the idea. while the number of talents doesn't seem like a lot, it starts to add up very quickly.

hey!! just saw your post but i hope your birthday has improved some 😌💞 i've been wanting to get into apollo justice since finishing the first trilogy around last year and i Did watch someone play the first case, but petered out around the time of the whole "panties" thing lol

but i bet if i played them myself i'd have a better time :] especially considering the traces of Family Drama i've seen so far with phoenix and truly are richly compelling to me... how has the gameplay been so far?

thank you!!! i am now happily in bed and watching cave documentaries so it is improving!!!! and monumentally real i like….Like the first case but it is such an aggravating bit. whacking at the writers with a broom she’s 15 you leave her alone

i liked the gameplay quite a lot!!!! it’s everything i enjoy about the gameplay in the first three games, it mostly plays really similarly and because i now Know The Case Formula they all play pretty smoothly, i didn’t get stuck or frustrated nearly at all (until the last case, lol). the third case has a couple really fun little evidence gimmicks that feel a little like some of the rise from the ashes evidence gameplay bits that i found really enjoyable. and apollos power is quite fun!!!! i liked being able to pay close attention to the sprites in that way, genuinely one of my biggest complaints is that they don’t let me use it Enough. i wanna always be perceiving. cause it’s fun!!!!

i do think my enjoyment of playing an aa game, which is just fun, balanced out some of the issues i had with the story, so if you ever do get back to it i hope you enjoy!!!!

hi! just wanted to say thank you so much for your work on this!! the attention to detail is so impressive - i loved how you worked around KH lore details like dying leading to an appropriate species change and multiclassing being encouraged! it leads to so many different possibilities for stories and gameplay - maybe the MM leads the party to a TPK early on and the party forms a new organization post-KH3 canon? who's to say :)

i'm excited to follow your updates to the project! tempted to make a build for one of the KH characters for fun 👀

thank You so much for the kind feedback!! i would love to see the way you'd build a kh character in the system - one of my self proclaimed goals at the start was that, by the end, you'd be able to theoretically recreate any kh character. there's still a lot of classes to go to make that happen, but it makes me so happy to think of people using the game for it!! ❤️

What does your character typically keep in their pockets?

snacks (nuts and berries), extra bowstring (just in case), especially nice flowers she finds, cool rock, a couple bandages

4. If your character was a work of art, how would you describe them?

like a manet probably, impressionism specifically.. soft colors, almost fuzzy... a little indistinct up close but beautiful all the same <3

5. How does your character express they’re comfortable?

making jokes! she comes across as very serious to people she's just met, but as she gets to know you she'll loosen up a bit. teasing is a love language

22. What kind of person would they never side with?

she despises selfishness!

46. How does your character feel about growing old?

at this point she's okay with it! she doesn't really like to think about reaching a point where she can't travel as easily, but she knows that it's a natural part of life, and one she's accepted

47. Do they consider themselves funny? How do they use humor?

as above!! her humor is very dry/deadpan, and i think she can come across as a little rude if you don't know she's joking. -1 charisma, baby!

her adaptability, i think! she has figured out a way to take care of herself and she's really proud of that

been thinking about this and i think she does have a little book of pressed flowers <3 it doubles as a field guide (she can take notes on them) but she also just likes to look at them!!

28. what is something that helps to comfort them?

looking up at the stars on a quiet night <3 i think sometimes when she's home at night she climbs onto the roof of her cottage and just looks up at the sky
