Bleeding hearts
Spring is here! Time for bleeding hearts! (Lamprocapnos spectabilis) These guys and our native bleeding hearts in the genus Dicentra are in the poppy family, Papaveraceae! They’re spring ephemerals that wake up and flower during the spring and go dormant again when things get too warm.
Have you grown bleeding heart/Lamprocapnos (Dicentra) spectabilis?
yes
no
never heard of it

lokelani is shaking. not much, just an ever so slight tremor, but one that extends to her entire body. there’s a scrap on her cheeks and she’s sure that the rest of her has bruises as well. you’d think with super heroes crawling all over the city, it would be safer. but kel swears ever since everything happened with castle and madani, there’s been a string of bad luck. which is why it hasn’t even been the surprising when she got jumped today on her way into work. needless to say she turned around and went home.
laying on the couch, she dozes on and off in one of billy’s hoodies. it’s only at the light touch of a hand on her face that she jolts awake, trying to remain calm as she realizes it’s billy. licking her lips, she takes a deep breath and moves to make room for him on the couch. “what time is it?” she asks softly.

Two different crops flowering in the greenhouse back on my bday despite the rainy frigid cold outdoors beyond;
Aquilegia discolor and Lamprocapnos spectabilis. The former later on got its flowers cut off to bring into the house and avoid interbreeding with the Canadian Columbines.
Valentine’s Day is about expressing love, and it's the perfect day to show love for plants too. This year, we're joining our friends at @nybg & other gardens across the US to share our #plantlove, and the ways we’re each helping the world come together to save plants.
