In Lancer's case, this is after she's had her T-Cog and Wings restored. Relearning to fly after a some tens of thousands years isn't intimidating at all haha. Seriously though, Lancer is going to need a lot of PT to get her joints back into proper condition after not transforming for so long but she'll get through it.
Moonracer on the other hand is suffering of the impromptu shut-downs I mentioned a bit in this post and is about to get so many parking tickets.
COMMISSIONS OPEN
(the Parts needed for Lancer's recovery were acquired by the rest of the team through a series of off the books "side quests" involving shady bastards ranging from Moony's ex-'Con older brother to organ-harvesting bounty hunters who really, REALLY should be arrested. Lancer is unaware of the details of the "how" but knows that they must have gone through hell and back for them.)
Stasis, as usual, evaded her as she pressed deeper into the icy wall. Her frames creaking protests did little to rival the constant buzz of her cell door, but it was something. That buzz was her sole companion in this prison and she was certain that it was intentionally designed to drive the prisoners insane.
With that, it was either make your own noise or strain your audials to listen for ANY. OTHER. SOUND.
This was easier done when their were other prisoners to shout at- had the Autobot architects had any sense they would have soundproofed the cells but that would imply Autobots allowed they’re expendable to think- but that was neither here nor there.
Still, she didn’t bother to online her optics at the faint hiss of the doors. Nor did she bother to raise her helm steadily louder pede-steps, even as they ended before her cell door. These were far too deep to be any of the nasty little mini bots assigned to ensure none of them starved to death… or offed themselves. A heavy gaze settled on her frame, but the silence stretched alongside the buzzing until it was clawing at her.
“Take a holo-scan, it’ll last longer.” Her vocalizer finally rasped out, glitched and warped in places from disuse. Internally grimacing, she bit back a gag.
“Will it now?” Hummed her visitor, amused. Harrumphing, she pointedly returned to ignoring him.
Unfortunately, the mech seemed to take her warning as an invitation.
“So… You're the seeker Ambus is all wrapped around the axel about. Himmel Lancer, was it?”
The seeker cracked her optics open lazily, crimson lights burned coldly as they cut through the dimly lit cell, landing on her visitor. Dragging her gaze across his form, they narrowed at his silhouette. Still, she slowly sat up, the jagged shards of her chest plate shuddering in and out of place, exposed wires sparking for the effort.
“It was.” Gripping her berth with her good hand, the metal creaked as she spat. “Though thanks to your esteemed Magnus, I don’t believe that designation will fit any more.”
What remained of her left servo waved towards the stumps of her shattered wings.
“Lancer then.” He corrected easily, earning an eye roll.
“Sure. Why not?” Lancer shrugged, joints popping in and out of their sockets as she forced them to relax. Tilting her helm at her visitor, her optic twitched. “Aren’t you a little old to be playing these games?”
“Oh one is never too old for games.” The mech countered cheerfully. “Though I doubt you’d like to play. No, I’m here because I’d like to offer you a proposition.”
Little Drabble on Lancer’s backstory and WOW I need to work on my writing- I’m rusty af lmao.
