Oh, the feeling when you realize that you now can browse sites in your target language and not feel lost

The feeling when you realize that you can, slowly, but translate sentences to your target language

The feeling when you hear someone speak your target language and you understand more than half of it

I live for this feeling

there is something so beautiful about hearing people speak in their first language, their mother tongue. it’s as if you’re hearing them truly speak for the first time and suddenly you see rolling fields, cliffs and mountains, wind running through a forest. every day i wish that i could understand every language of the universe so that it can be more than music to my ears.

i know that most of us only know english because of colonialism but i still have fallen in love with it. i planted it when i a kid and watered it everyday until it became a part of me and now it's grown into a beautiful garden of colorful flowers. shout-out to the english language!
