i love languagejam not only bc like,, u can challenge urself and work on something new for one weekend but also just like,,, the website design is so nice??? i love the whole pixel-y thing so much and it’s all consistent like,, wow i need to get on their level

also their whole thing this time with indigenous languages that are overlooked or underappreciated, most of them being minority languages???? i love it so much wow

basically languagejam is great and if u like languages u should sign up immediately

I've been wanting to start Malay for a while now ; I had even got a few resources already. so this is the perfect selection for LanguageJam !!

Malay update

I didn’t make too much progress this past LanguageJam ; only did a few levels of a memrise course. But I definitely think I’d like to continue learning ! Malay feels like a pretty weird language (I mean that in a wholly good and positive way !!) which can make for an exciting experience

however, I’m still not sure whether I’d want to learn Standard Malaysian or Standard Indonesian ??  I’ve started with Malaysian for now, but South Africa and the Capetownian community have closer historical ties to Indonesia (due to Dutch colonialism). so idk

My LangJam language is Mari!

Next weekend, I will be doing the LangJam challenge. Basically, you sign up and are given a random language to study within the given weekend. This session, the weekend is Friday 26th-Sunday 28th. You have from 12 am Friday till 12 am Sunday to study your language. There’s no test. It’s just a fun thing to do for language learners!
