I've always tied that to Harry and Little Things, but I was today years old when I realized, that Louis actually posted the tattoo on his ig with that exact caption.

What are you talking about? I get couple tattoos with my friends all of the time! I even kiss them a bit and get jealous when other people hit on them. Oh, and we’re married! Hope this helps <3

Little distraction from current events (or lack thereof):

Was just crying to Strong, "my hands, your hands, tied up like 2 ships.." and now I'm wondering: when was this written and when did H&L get the anchor and rope tattoos?

hello!!! idk the exact date strong was written but midnight memories was written between dec 2012-sept 2013 when they were on the tmh tour. imo strong was done more in the middle of 2013 as it’s a very loud song and was used for elouNO promo by 1d’s collaborators. that tells you everything you need to know about the true meaning of the song and what had to be hidden behind the stunt.

louis got the rope tattoo in june 2013 (pride month) and harry got the anchor in la somewhere in january 2014. it’s also believed that louis could’ve been there with him cos he was seen in la at the same time.

several of their tattoos during that era are matching/couple sets bcos it was the only way they could express their love openly. the anchor & rope is meant to symbolize staying afloat when you endure a storm (hardship) and you need each other to navigate that storm bcos you’re a pair that charts each other.

2013 was like… a very intense year for them so i deff think that’s the meaning behind them. they also got them placed so they connect when they hold hands.
