This skillet lasagna is a quick and easy way to enjoy the flavors of traditional lasagna without all the hassle. It's made entirely in one skillet, cutting down on cleanup time, and is packed with savory meat sauce, tender noodles, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 onion, chopped. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 can 28 oz crushed tomatoes. 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce. 2 cups water. 2 tsp dried basil. 1 tsp dried oregano. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces. 1 cup ricotta cheese. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional.
Instructions: In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is browned and onion is softened. Drain excess fat. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer. Add broken lasagna noodles to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally. Drop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese over the top of the lasagna. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired before serving.
