Picture of the Day
Happened twice now! I wrote a whole article and sleep in between, to know that my article is not posted!
My sleep has gone completely crazy, that is to say that I don’t have time to sleep! I sleep with the lamp on, because I forgot to turn it off. And what I wrote yesterday makes no sense at all! But well, I’ll give my self some points for trying, haha!
So, picture of the day: it’s everywhere.
Haha, Per’s cute expressions.
When I didn’t get to see was comments on RXB. I wanted some cool comments, you know, the anylitical ones?
Imagine this picture being shared in 2015 - we all would’ve gone crazy, right?
So, the guy is Lasse Lindbom, and I totally like him for all the things he has done over the years for Gyllene Tider, Per and Marie. Obviously, he was Marie’s boyfriend for a span, and Marie wrote the best songs with him for her solo projects as well - GTs producer and what not!
So, yes! Das ist alles. Ich muss jetzt lernen!

#marie60 - #1
Birthday wishes tomorrow, since I’m going a date behind!
But OH MY GOD, the birthday gift TDR gave to Marie! First the #marie60 tribute and then an article by none other than Stevo Petkovic!!! I smiled. This time, my heart smiled because TDR’s beautiful effort was pure appreciation and respect for a women who inspired their lives so deeply. Trying to understand the deeper meaning behind her music, they handpicked delicately her whole solo catalogue and made a beautiful pendent out of it in the form of a 60 days countdown till Marie turns 60.
Considering they’re all boys, it adds a special cuteness factor to it.
Yes, thanks for your efforts and for taking out so much time to actually remind us of the amazing music Marie has given us over the years.
Thanks Visa, Thomas, Paul, Kai, Colin and Stevo!
I absolutely love the #1 song on the list - Efterstormen.
I remember the first time I heard it in Marie’s best of album - and it stuck there. I loved the song the moment I heard it and I knew that this would end up being my favourite Marie song - it’s pop, it’s 80s, it’s catchy and... It has a major Roxette feel to it.
(And before I discovered “Längtan” from her “Efterstormen” album, the song “Efterstormen” remained on my #1. Its not far even today - #2 *wink*).
As TDR said, it really is the climax, a blend of everything in her solo material. Although, yes, such songs don’t get to go on the first position - it too pop to be professional. “Tro” or “Sparvöga” had more potential, but then again, we all love pop, don’t we?
And of course, Lasse Lindbom is involved in making this song - how can it not be so perfect?
Thanks again TDR, it was marvellous how you guys managed making this tribute for Marie, and for keeping us occupied and entertained in the best possible way.

Längtan on # 18
For the first time, I felt that TDR communicated with me. I may be wrong but just the idea that someone from TDR is reading this homemade bread is marvellous. Let me be happy anyway! I’m marking the day in my diary *hearts popping out of the eyes*.
“Längtan” is on #18 on TDRs #Marie60 list.
Beautiful, because 18 is pretty much my favourite number. Haha!
“Längtan” is my favourite Marie song. I mean I absolutely love everything about this song - the melody, the google translated lyrics, the piano, the beats and most of all: Marie’s beautifully strong vocals.
Wanna know something weird? I got to know the existence of this song just 4.5 years back. What a pity, right?
Lasse Lindbom is written all over the song. Try imagining a set of 10 songs and no mention of a sea or ocean in even one of them - yes, those songs can possibly not be Lindbom songs.
Marie sounds absolutely amazing. Well, she sounds tremendous in the whole of the “Efterstormen” album, but this song *s*h*i*n*e*s*. Even if you don’t understand Swedish, the melody makes sure to tell it’s a lovely little song and nothing bad is happening in it. “Longing” defined in a lovely atmosphere. “Longing” defined in such a way that it still doesn’t sound desperate. “Longing” results beautifully too.
I think every Roxette fan would instantly click to “Längtan”. It does sound a little like a Roxette song, except that the piano didn’t sound so well defined in the early Roxette songs.
My major concerns are:
- Why is this song not a part of the best of Marie compilation?
- Why is it not a single.
- Why did Marie never chose it to be part of her gigs?
I mean even TDR loves this song so much that they mentioned both the versions in their #Marie60 list.
Is Marie not too fond of this song? Is it too pop for her taste?
I’ll still put this song on a pedestal, thank you very much! - Classic Marie!

The Funny Drum Beats
I heard Strul, MaMa’s Barn and Marie’s “Het vind” and “Den sjunde vågen”. MaMa’s Barn was a fun little album, which made me wonder why did I not listen to with such care before (which was just once before). I didn’t listen to it with a lot of care today either, but I caught some part of it and it was likable. Marie’s first 3 solo albums are fantastic, “Efterstormen” being my favorite. I again thank God that Marie said “yes” when it came to working with Per Gessle for a risky project called “Roxette”. Marie’s work with Lasse Lindbom is good pop/rock. But then due to certain reasons, it would’ve been hard for them to work together for music and it would’ve also affected the quality. While listening to both “Het vind” and “Den sjunde vågen” - I noticed something pretty.... Cool. Both the albums start with a funny beat. When “Het vind” starts with the same title song, you suddenly feel like there is some error in the system and the CD has stuck in the player. A little bit is the experience with “Den sjunde vågen”s first song: Värdighet. The drum beats are barely 2 seconds, but it make you feel like something fell, or got stuck or something like that. Try it, you’re gonna enjoy those beats. Monday tomorrow. How did the weekend finish so quickly. It was Friday just a while back, wasn’t it? Anyway, have a beautiful week ahead. Bagen
There are times when you really miss The Daily Roxette. By miss I mean the way they were earlier, before Facebook took over.
Thanks to TDR, I heard a song which I never heard before. It was 33 years back when Marie shared a stage with Lasse Lindbom and sang a song called “Bagen”. Reminded me so much of the “Party” album.
One comment by Alex Girine made me realise that fans are such observant people. The comment told that Anders Herrlin and Göran Fritzon are there too. I mean, I would’ve totally missed them out if it wasn’t for this comment.
I’m so sure it is T. Evensson who shared this video.

Such a different song, such a different dose of Marie Fredriksson’s artistry. It’s familiar and yet so new. Thanks TDR, you’re pretty amazing, whatsoever.
Time really has changed today.
PS: This also reminded me that it has been long since I’ve been sarcastic towards TDR.

Marie's Dirty Dozen
As much as I admire what Thomas writes, but I missed Stevo when it came to TDR's "Dirty Dozen" series. I mean, Thomas has through knowledge, but he writes very.... how to put it.... very decently. I mean, his articles are very precise and to the point. Brilliant, but very professional. Stevo, on the other hand, goes crazy (in a good way). If you give Stevo an apple, he's gonna write one hell of an article on it's awesome super powers to human kind, starting the story from Adam and Eve to Steve Jobs, and finally giving a fine review on Per's and Nisse's "Apple in the Mud". Stevo, you're missed. You were not even there for the review of "En vacker natt" *sniff sniff*. Where-are-you? Or is it that he doesn't write for the Swedish material? Anyway, TDR's dirty dozen's latest article has been written by Thomas, where he hand picked the 12 best Marie songs in Swedish. http://www.dailyroxette.com/dirty-dozen-marie/ Do you know there are 2 songs which I didn't know? And this includes the song on #1 position (and #2 position as well - my cheeks are red with embarrassment). Have you heard it before? I guess it wasn't present in any album, probably that's why I missed it. Beautiful song, isn't it? "Så skimrande var aldrig havet". I truly agree here that Marie Fredriksson and Lasse Lindbom's song writing team was marvellous, the songs they made together stand out. Probably if he wasn't there, Marie might've not been as famous as she is in her native Sweden. Only the song "too" made it on the list from her album "I en tid som vår". Nothing from "Nu!" either. Also, I remember a song called "där du andas", that's list material as well. And oh oh, "ett hus vid havet" is being missed. "Mot okända hav" - yes, most would've forgotten about this gem. Thanks Thomas for remembering. No one likes the song "Längtan", so I won't complain it not making to the list. Nice choice Thomas! And here, we say bye bye to May 2017. Hope it went well for all. I just came across the back side of the "Never Ending Love" LP, and OH-MY-GOD!!!! This is so freaking hilarious. (Thanks Google). No one probably would notice it since it is written in such a serious tone, which can easily be considered some technical song detail. There are so many details, like: - Remember when sending an SMS was a nuisance and we'd prefer "u" for "You", "4" for "For" etc etc. Yeah, it seems pretty much shorthand. You know, one just has to be "cool" according to the times. Eh? - I checked the 1000000 (million) keeping in mind the typo which was mentioned in TDR. - "King Kong Passion". Seriously, who's idea was this to name poor MP as King Kong? Persson = Passion maybe hmmm? - "with non existing-assistance from mr. Öwferman". If this was Per's idea, yeah, this shows that their friendship was strong since the beginning. - "special thanks to Kjell Andersson for leaving the studio and to Lasse Lindbom for leaving the bar" i mean one would just not notice such hilarious talk after the line "recorded and mixed at EMI studio 1 & 2...." (Ah Lasse Lindbom). - last it not the least, notice the Roxette logo below, a dancing guy and a girl, yeah, it has never been used I guess after 1986. And hey Roxers, if you're reading, if there are other such funny things on Roxette single records, please don't forget to share. Have a lovely Sunday ahead. Love and Peace 9/7/2016
