ok, but if you're an arts student, here are some daily reminders :
a. you will be successful in life if you work hard, regardless of your subject
b. don't listen to people who can't see any value in arts subjects. they know nothing and are absolute shit
c. a lot of people will tell you that you wouldv'e been better off choosing another subject -- they're wrong. this is YOUR life and you have every right to be badass and make YOUR OWN choices. and you should be able to study what you want -- only then can you be satisfied, not just in terms of money, but also mental health.
shit's going to be hard if you're an arts student -- i've been yelled at from multiple corners [ including my own mother, mind you ] saying that i made a bad choice. and yet i defy the expectations they have set for me every single fucking day.
i feel super-tired sometimes thinking that despite studying hard, getting good grades and having had the highest post in student council, i'm still treated like absolute shit. i have to work a million times more that your average science student, and even then i'm deemed not worthy enough. this is evident in many families, especially in india, where to choose science [ only choosing itself, not studying properly ] is seen as an act of great intelligence.
i'm not saying science students are horrible or that science is not a good thing to study; it is. but we deserve respect too.
but anyway, if you're an arts student, i feel you. i see you. you're not alone.
and you're fucking badass for studying the arts despite people screeching in your ears telling you that you're worthless, useless and whatnot.
