Good Things :)
Being support for a friend - My friends lift me up on a daily basis and are there for me when I need that extra suppport. So I love when I can give that back to them.
Snowy days - Today it snowed for a bit. Not long and it wasn’t heavy. But goodness was it beautiful.
Lazy weekends - This weekend was one of those typical for January. Too cold to be out and about. And with Covid, there is really nothing to do anyway. But I embraced it. I watched some movies, read a book, did minimal loads of laundry and got really comfortable on my couch. I’m not always good at relaxing but I think I did it well this time.
Getting back to reading - My relationship with books is fickle. Sometimes we are hot and heavy, like teenagers in an empty house. Other times we are like a middle-aged couple who sit at opposite ends of the couch without talking to one another. Right now I’m in that sweet spot of a relationship where you are just settled in enough to be comfortable but still appreciate every minute.
Making plans to bake - I haven’t baked in weeks. This week I am jumping back on the baking bandwagon for National Chocolate Cake Day. Let’s hope it turns out great!!
I really need to start doing more on the weekends. Most often I just want to spend Saturday doing nothing and then a couple of hours on Sunday job hunting. Often I have stupid excuses about being tired from work, but like, I'm really stunting my growth by just hanging around and reading every Saturday. New goal: once a month spend a Saturday getting culturally fed beyond novels.
