Reflecting on the past few weeks... 14 days since I took this photo, 11 since my Half-Marathon. It seems like longer? And yet it feels like I’ve hardly had a chance to process anything. // Unposted photos, undeciphered thoughts. Unanswered messages. Ever felt like everything is moving too fast, yet you’re standing still? My body at least has been recovering, and I’m running well and happily this week. // Sometimes it’s all too easy to forget that we’re ultimately in control it all. The work we chose to do, the things we pay attention to. Like our muscles, our minds don’t grow during periods of stress (or inactivity) but when we rest. I don’t have to be anywhere on Saturday, except in my bed in the morning, and I’m really looking forward to it, and the space in my schedule. // I read a wonderful short story by J.R.R Tolkien a couple of months ago called #LeafByNiggle and it struck me like a Balrog’s whip. I saw aspects of myself in Niggle, similar hopes and the same challenges. The story left no doubt in my mind that Tolkien wrote from lived experience, and with an intention to help anyone striving for something elusive. (at Madrid, Spain)
