Marionette
Summary: The death of Papa Emeritus III shook the congregation to its core and triggered a series of events that not even Papa Nihil could have foreseen for all involved.
Disclaimer: This book is rated 18+! If you are a minor DO NOT interact! Book contains depictions of violence, dismemberment, age gap relationship(s), and includes themes that revolve around religion and darker themes that maybe uncomfortable for some readers.
The Ministry was at a complete standstill. No sibling spoke, none of the higher echelons of the Clergy did or said anything, and there wasn’t even the general buzz of bustling chores being conducted throughout the ministry. The news of Papa Emeritus III’s death hit them hard, to the point where a few of the higher clergy members did not know how to react and the rest were in disbelief that the executed plan worked out.
I love Charmed (1998) as a cosmic horror story.
You are a powerful witch destined for Good. You are descended from the one Actual Witch killed by the Salem Witch Trials. You live in a house, an ancestral home of a century or so, where her descendants eventually fled to escape persecution. It sits on a powerful Nexus of magic power, which hides from plain sight in the basement. It draws evil like moths to a flame. These evils have haunted you, literally, since your earliest childhood memories. They can appear suddenly in your home at all hours, on any day, and attempt to slaughter you all without warning.
You have a book. It is written by the hands that came before you. Written in their blood, in their sufferings, in their death. Tips and tricks, potions and spells, marking out methods to defeat each of the almost innumerable horrors that stalk you and yours. For they cannot be truly killed. Only banished, for months or decades, before they come again. Come again to invade your home and take your power. To eliminate you to the last.
This book is considered the greatest of its kind in the world. Witches of other lines covet it. But do they know what it cost? The suffering that begets its necessity? This book is magical, and it’s essence it tied inextricably to yours: if it is stolen, corrupted, so are you. It is also tied to the house. It cannot be taken from the premises by any means not by your hands. You can sense if it’s gone. It is part of you, your blood, and your line. Just as the house is. Just as the Nexus you defend is.
It is your family’s duty to protect them from falling into the wrong hands. You stay. Generation after generation stay, write new entries in the book, and raise their families inside the walls of The Manor. The power of the Nexus seeps into their blood, your blood, each generation gaining more and more power. Power to face the evils that come to take it. They come with poison and knives, crossbows and fire, all intent on murdering a suburban San Francisco family in their home. They invade, plot, scheme, work their evil magics on your bodies and minds. You fight and fight and fight for your lives. You live and you learn. You die and you learn. You suffer and you learn. But in the end, you are powerless against them. They are too numerous, hour after hour, day after day, year after year, decade after decade.
The evils came, and they killed your ancestors. But they did not get what they came for, so they tried again. And again. They killed your mother. They killed your grandmother. They killed your sister. They killed your memories, your childhood, your friends, your lovers, your guardian angels, your spouse, your children. They killed you. Over and over. But they do not win what they seek. At least not permanently. So each time, the power of the Nexus, steeped in blood and in your blood in return, drags you back. It bends the laws of dimension and time, forcing you through endless sufferings only you and yours remember, and it brings you right back to where you started: living in your ancestral home, fighting for the power, set in place as sentinels to shield it from Evil.
Sometimes, one or more of you will move out, try to make a life away from magic, the book, The Manor, and the Nexus beneath it. Sometimes, a child of your line is given up for adoption the day they are born. Sometimes, your memories of magic are erased and you scatter to the winds to live mundane lives. Sometimes, you move across the world to be with the one you love. It never works. None of it ever sticks. You always return. Like moths to a flame. Drawn in by death, the collapse of a relationship, by attacks or spells or magic gone awry or signs that appear to be from the very Universe Itself. Every Warren Witch ends up returned to sender. Always, a Halliwell must remain in the Manor. So you stay, and you protect it. (The House always wins.)
There is a Final Battle. Everyone you love is dead. You are dead. The house lies in ruins. Until it doesn’t. And everything returns to the way it was. You think it is over. That Good has won, once and for all. That the Evil has been defeated, the Nexus destroyed. But your children have power. The Nexus is in their blood. So the Evil will come. Like moths to a flame. And someday, you, and they, will die. Your unending string of death and resurrection will cease. You become another generation sacrificed to feed the great beast that waits below. And another generation destined for Good will in turn rise to protect it. And someday they too will die. But the line, book, the house, and the power will continue. And so too will the sacrifice.
That is the story of Charmed.

summary: Evan Buckley is failing all his classes and he needs a tutor if he doesn't want to drop out of college all together. Eddie Diaz ends up being the one who helps him. And Buck really wants to hate him. God, does he really want to hate him.
But then, Eddie ends up actually being kind of a nice guy.
And Evan may or may not be falling stupidly in love with him.
Or;
A college AU in which Buck and Eddie find something more than just classmates in each other.
Chapter One
Evan
Evan Buckley took a deep breath, in through his nose, out through his mouth. Just like that stupid therapist he was seeing last year had told him to do. It didn’t work, just as he had expected. He shook his head and looked up at the grand building that sat in front of him, the yellowing of the exterior somehow seeming bleaker than it did last year. It put a pang in his chest that, once again, he had to walk through those doors he hated and take classes he knew he was failing and be surrounded by people that he despised.
It Was Always You.

Chapter: 2
"Jungkook, wait!!" Jimin, Namjoon, and Taehyung yelled quickly catching up to him. "We are coming with you." Taehyung snatched the keys quickly out of Jungkooks hand.
After the charade that Candice put up yesterday Jungkook wanted to collect all his stuff from their shared apartment before he could finally bid goodbye to the woman who killed him from inside over and over again.
"Hyung il be fine, She will be at work anyway. I'll grab my stuff and be out in no time." Jungkook tried to reason with the three stern-looking men. "I don't care if that woman is at work, Kookie. We are coming with you." Namjoon quickly made his way to the car's front seat, leaving no room for discussion ahead.
"Thanks for letting me stay Tae, Il find a place soon" Jungkook looked at him with sad eyes, a voice drowned in guilt and pain that didn't seem to go. "Are you kidding me right now Jeon Jungkook? There is no way you're staying anywhere else man!" Taehyung looked at him through the mirror secretly wishing he would just understand where he was coming from.
"We are finishing the lease next month and we have decided we are moving to a bigger space and you, My boy are coming with us just like the old times," Jimin added with a small smile. There was no way in hell he was ever letting him live alone considering how his best friend had been destroying himself. The sweetest Jungkookie who everyone adored was nowhere to be found, all he faced was right now was a tired person. Tired to even breathe.
If dying was an option today, Jungkook would choose that. It hurt. It hurt so bad that he couldn't breathe. Bit by bit, he could feel himself breaking apart. All he could feel was darkness, heartbroken. Tears continued to stay put in his eyes.
"Stay here kookie, We will get your stuff." Namjoon patted his back sympathetically. He didn't want the boy the suffer any more than he already did. He did not deserve that.
"I'll come to Hyung, there is pretty much nothing left that I haven't seen or heard. What could hurt me or break me?" Jungkook wiped his tears and wordlessly walked ahead, head down. He prayed to every God he could think of for Candice's absence at the apartment.
"I couldn't believe he cheated me, I loved him. How could he do this to me?" Jungkook froze in the doorway watching the scene before him. Candice was right there on the couch, nestled in another man's lap as he stroked her head and uttered sympathies to her. (He desperately needed to stop saying there is could be nothing worse than this or that. Every time he thought that, Something even worse happened.)
A tear rolled down his eye as his legs gave out, he stumbled a little trying hard to hold onto support. Taehyung quickly held him and Jimin and Namjoon pushed open the door but they stayed rooted to the ground once the entire hall and Candice and the man came in view.
"Kookie" Candice uttered in shock as she practically stumbled from the man's lap. "Kookie it's not what it looks like" Candice stuttered trying to hold him but Jimin immediately stood in between.
"It's not like what you heard." Jungkook stabled himself from Taehyungs arm and spoke directly to her. "Tell me, Candice, Come on Tell me it's not what it looks like, and it's not what I heard it was." Tears started rolling down his face as he stared right through her eyes.
"Some nerve you have huh coming back here after cheating on her." The man got up from the couch and in long strides reached Jungkook. The worst part, Çandice didn't stop him she stood there silently as Jungkook was being falsely accused.
Namjoon, Jimin, and Taehyung immediately stood before Jungkook, anger radiating from them. "Come one step closer to him and we will make sure you end up with at least ten broken bones in your body." Namjoon roared at the man and he stepped back.
"Candice baby il see you tomorrow okay, I think you should talk it out." He immediately hurried down the stairs leaving the four behind.
"Candice, I strongly believe in not touching a woman in aggression. But I will gladly put you in place if you as much take one step towards my man." Jimin warned her, his fists clenching and face red with anger.
Jungkook wordlessly walked ahead, tears flowing freely from his eyes, blurring his vision. He opened the door to their bedroom and stood there a moment taking in the mess the room was in.
He dragged his feet towards the wardrobe to retrieve his bags when he stepped on something. His eyes moved down at the object, and the world spun violently, making his stomach contents somersault. A used condom!
Jungkook burst through the door into the bathroom and puked his guts out. He flushed the toilet and dropped down on the floor. He tried breathing hard but it didn't stop. He held his head between his hands and started trembling. (Where was this girl he loved, Where was the woman who looked at him with those heart eyes. Where was the girl who said that he is her home.)
