Full confession: I haven't listened to this whole thing because I started tearing up at "We may open at the close/ But there's only so far that goes" because hearing a song about things ending in her voice does terrible things to my emotional tranquility. Hers was the voice I always listened for in choir rehearsal because she always knew what she was doing; she was the choir mom and the person who cared (and therefore asked, and therefore knew) about how every single person in it was doing, and the fact that my time with that choir has ended still does me in, a year after I left it.

Amy was one of those huge Older Female Friend influences during my adolescence because she loves everyone and everything and is just the most effortlessly positive person I know, and it meant a lot to a girl who was angry and scared that you could get through to the other side of adolescence being as unapologetically yourself as she always is, and end up as awesome as she is. Amy, if you're reading this, thank you. You change lives.

Performing in LeakyStars was nothing short of a magical experience, and I am so grateful to all those who helped me get there. I was absolutely floored by the amount of support I received, and for that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 

Thank you to Amber, Curt, Dom, Jon, Max, and Meghan for all your kind words. I am so honored to have won, and I can't wait to return to the stage next year!
